COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This medium-bodied Porter is brewed with a unique blend of roasted malts and fresh hops. Chocolate, smoky notes are abundant throughout and the citrus aroma provides a refreshing twist to this old world beer style.

Drank from snifter poured from a 12 oz bottle. Nice smoky flavor, but the palate is too bitter and the citrus notes build on the palate too quickly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ home, courtesy of fucken a brosmer, I believe. Thanks! Pours a dark brown appearance with a creamy, dark brown head. A fair amount of anise, roast, and dark chocolate in the nose along with some coffee notes. Somewhat bitter, dull herbal hoppy, dark bready, coffee flavor. Decent.

Had this in the fridge for a while before I tried. I think this is the first Alabama brewery to make its way over the Georgia line. Pours what I would call a dark brown closer to brown than black with a generous tan head. Smells a bit grassy and citrusy. A bit thin on the mouthfeel. Malt barely exceeds the bitter with a burnt finish. Decent beer. Bottle - Ale Yeah - Decatur, GA

12 oz. Bottle poured into glass. Nice off white head. Some lacing.Smells of flowers, coffee and grizzly straight. Taste is bitter hops and caramel. Great brew from Alabama.

Kudzu Porter pours a very dark reddish mahogany topped by a durable tan head that leaves excellent lacing. Aroma: more hops than expected lend an unusual citrus nose, but there is too little in the way of roasted malts. Taste: a bit hoppy, but on par with some other American Porters. Thankfully, there’s plenty of dark roasted malt too. The dark malt brings a light smoke and a bit too much burnt quality. M: medium+ body; Nicely carbonated. Overall: an unusual but nice American porter worth trying.

Bottle. Pours cola brown without much head. Just a slight white halo with light lacing. Aroma is chocolate and light coffee with hints of vanilla. Taste is the same. Not too sweet, not too dry. Pretty easy drinking.

Comes out of the bottle a deep, barely translucent coffee brown with a thick and fluffy pale wheat head. Smoky aroma has notes of molasses and semi-sweet chocolate and hints of licorice and horehound. Hearty flavor has roast malt, chocolate and molasses notes plus a not-so-subtle bitter hoppy tone. Firm texture is quite fizzy and lively, leaving a fairly persistent tingle and a slightly chocolaty finish. Roll in the kudzu with this one.

Jacksonville, Fl - Grassroots Natural Market - 12 oz bottle. Oily dark brown pour, thin but persistent off-white head, a bit of lacing. Aroma has a hint of creosote, some nutty notes. Flavor has a strong roasty presence with some bittersweet chocolate notes, a touch of black coffee, some potting soil. Mouthfeel has a bit of chalkiness that I like in porters, but just a tad thin. Not bad.

Bottle: Pours brown with a finger of tan head. Nose is sweet and roasty, with a significant amount of citrus hops. Taste follows. The citrus hops work nicely with the level of roast even a light bit of smoke. Borderline porter v. black ipa in my book. Refreshing and very good.

My favorite of their offerings. Beautiful deep brown pour with some ruby around the edges. Off-white head fades quickly but leaves some great lacing. Flavor is a nice balance of bitter roasted malt, coffee, and some caramel and chocolate. Surprisingly light for all that. This is would make a good session beer. Really nice porter.
