Courtesy of markwise. It pours deep gold with slight haze and off white head. The aroma is an odd mix of pine, toffee and butterscotch. The taste is sweet with caramel candy, butterscotch, toffee and hints of vague hoppiness. This one appears to have missed the spot with weak hoppiness and diacetyl.

I think TampaBrew brought this one. Pours clear gold with a white head. Nose is butter, sweet, some citrus, and some malt. Flavor is a mild pale ale. Not a fan.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of fata2683. Thanks! Shared at the 11th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 4/17/10. Glad to finally knock of this state. Only Arkansas and Kansas left. The aroma is citrusy hops with a fairly big malty complement. The taste is bitter citrusy hops with caramel and a bit of bready malts. Medium bodied. Decent.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2010 Rerate from a fresh bottle. Wow, much better. I think my old rating was from a bad bottle. Light gold pour, white head. Some good spicy hop aroma, caramel malt, crackers, and even a hint of citrus. Flavor has a nice dose of citrus hops and caramel malt. Good beer, glad to have tried a fresh bottle!

Pours a beautiful translucent amber. Minimal white head. Aroma of fresh grain, barley, grassy hops and a slight sugar finish. Flavor of big citrus, floral perfume, grass and slight biscuit. Very good. Much better than I expected by seeing other ratings.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 madvike (2090) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Bottle from fata2684...thanks Keith! - Pours amber with a gigantic white head. Sweet, sweet malt on the nose--a big burst at first--caramelly and a bit doughy, with a slight metallic twinge. Taste is a bit heavy on the malt, though the hops certainly aren’t hiding. The malt is bold, slightly roasty, with some coffee and chocolate notes. Yeah--weird. The finish is grassy hops, accompanied by a bit of roastiness and some metal. Too much carbonation on this one--I needed to burp after one sip. Points for being interesting, but offset by the metal and the carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 ruskiimperial (308) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 17, 2010
Sample Date: 4/17/2010 Source:Dkachur at Ratebeer tasting. Poured a light golden with a thin head which quickly dissipated. Aroma has strong notes of nuts and honey. Taste reveals some aromatic hops which are tempred by the sweet aftertaste very similar to honey. Not bad, though doesn’t leave much of an impression one way or the other.
