draft at sam and nicks? (bbq joint) in Birmingham; had a couple of these and really enjoyed it. aroma was malt and nutty honey. nice amber pour, nice palate for style. taste was malt sweet then nuts and a nice honey sweetness - not overly sweet - well balanced; would drink several again...

Not sure why this is marketed as a brown ale. It is red in color and there is no trace of malty brown ale flavors. Juicy fruitiness reminiscent of strawberries dominate the tongue.

Clear amber w/ off-white foam head. Aroma is barley, sweet. Sweet honey barley taste. Not too outspoken. No aftertaste to speak off either, bit flat beer. (Velp 201409)

bottle @ Habersham Beverage / Savannah GA --- Clear amber brown color, off-white head cover, a band of lace. Taste is lightly roasted malt that adds quite a bit of honey in the palate before turning just a bit bitter in the lingering sweet finish. Pretty simple, drinkable, but not very memorable.

Rated from notes taken 9 Feb 2012 -- An overall decent brown. A little watery, not much honey detectable. Good football and wings beer.

Bottle sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours a clear golden brown with hint of bubbly white head. Aroma is caramel malt, toasted wood, and metal. Taste is less metallic, hint of sweetness and nuts. Meh.

Draft at Beltway Brewing Company - guest tap. Poured a clear dark amber color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was notes of sweet malt, honey notes, wheat. Flavor was some lightly toasted malts, sweetness - dry honey notes on the finish. Caramel notes.

Clear golden-amber color with a short light tan head. Faint aromas. Notes of honey, metal, and smoke. Watery texture. Flavor mimics aroma. This is pretty bad.
