Soupy amber with a creamy taupe head and some lacing. Aroma of grains, malts and caramel. Taste of floral hops, caramel a bit of roasted malt and finishes up moderately bitter. Just another APA.

Six pack from King Richards in Michigan City. I had to ask they guy to get me a 6 pack that I could see in the cooler but could not get at. He stressed that all Back Road products had to be kept chilled - I wish all retailers were so conscientious. (Shorts should try to get retailers to do the same - its terrible seeing stacks of their beer sitting in the aisles and you just know it will be spoiled....)

Anyhow - pour from a 12 oz bottle. Deep clear amber brew with ample white head that settles into a small but persistent froth. Aroma of floral, pine, and citrus hops. Taste is dry, moderate hops following the aroma dominating the taste. Rather light but very crisp and refreshing. Pronounced but pleasant lingering bitter aftertaste. This has the characteristics of an English pale ale, including the restraint, with the American hops flavors that make it distinctly an APA. A fine brew.

12oz bottle acquired in trade. Poured a medium and hazy golden color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of green apples and yuckiness. Tastes of the same. This one was a drain pour.

Bottle shared thanks to hopdog. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a bubbly white head. Aroma of green apple, some light floral notes from the hops. Seems to have fermentation issues written all over this beer. Flavor didn’t have as much green apple but was very thin and no-descript.

tap at the brewery - Pours lightly hazy dark yellow with a lingering off white head that leaves some lacing. It has a rich, citrusy cascade hop aroma. The flavor has moderately strong hops bitterness with subdued malt, which I found in a couple other Back Road beers the same day, that leaves the body a little too light. Decent.

Sample from city wide in S. Bend. Hazy gold pour. Floral and light caramel aroma. Grassy citrus hops and light pine. Long bitter finish. Overly grainy

Bottle courtesy of shawnm213. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a thin white head. Smells of earth, some caramel, light spice. Tastes of earth, tea, light resin, some peppery hints.

12oz bottle poured on the brewtour last Saturday. Poured a clear golden orange with grapefruit and light pine notes on pale malts. Similar flavors that fade quick with a finish that’s somewhat grassy, though this should be quite fresh.
