12-oz. bottle from tjthresh. Pours a hazy mahagony with a small amount of tan bubbles floating on the surface for a short duration, leaving only faint hints that head ever existed. Aroma is sweet malt (caramel, straw, meal) and heavy nuttiness. Moderately bitter and acidic caramel malt, light molasses, nutty flavor, some hint of alcohol and hops, dry and burning near the end. Medium and warm bodied, dry palate.

Eyedrinkale (3213) - Astoria, New York, USA - MAR 31, 2006
22 oz bomber. Amber color with a smallish head. Aroma is pretty barleywine-ish, with caramel, tangerine, sweet grains and just a mellow hoppiness. Some wet cardboard taste but the sweet sugar covers up some of it.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with BBB63 (thanks!). Poured a deep oragish/amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aroams of strong caramel, toffee, some dark fruits, and a little earthy. Tastes of caramel, cherries, and citrus. Medium alcohol in the finish.

Thanks to hopdog for this... Appears a hazy caramel color with a mild tan head. Scattered lacing is left behind. Smell is of caramel, toffee, mild cherries, and fresh, sugary dough. Taste is of caramel, dough, mild oak, and spices. Mouthfeel...still slightly hot with lots of sugary malt. ABV is evident in this one.

Bottled. Hazy ruby. Fruity crystal malt aroma. Sweet with clean, chewy mouthfeel. Somewhat sticky and very salty, unusually fruity. Medium bitterness. Not entirely succesful.

Hazy reddish-orange with smaller white head that fades quick. Fruity aroma with some light caramel and a little wood. Lots of caramel in the flavor with a nice light fruitiness and a hint of citrus. Moderately hoppy finish. Alcohol sneeks in at the end.

Pretty clear deep copper in color with light head and quickly fading lace. Sweet malts and slight hops on the nose with a hint of carmel. Rich upfront but then a weird metallic taste with a dry hoppy finish then gets a little grainy.

jasonp (1555) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - DEC 8, 2005
Sampled at Argo and Kathy’s ’05 Holiday Gathering. Dark, clear copper with an off-white head. Aroma is a mix hops and toasted malts. Has a young, green hop flavor with notes of toffee/kilned malts, sherry and a strong alcohol presence. Pretty sweet. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and subtle carbonation. Overall, not bad but it needs work.

Bottle... A&K’s4thAHBT... Hazy golden ale with a small, beige head. The aroma is a blend of dimestore perfumes and colognes... can’t describe it better than that. Malty flavor up front, but equally bitter on the backside. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Finishes tongue numbingly bitter and boozy.
