tytoanderso (1152), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA May 6, 2008 12oz bottle. Resiny aroma with a good dose of citrus. Wet wood and caramel malt as well. Pours a thick maroon/copper with a thick white head leaving excellent sticky lacing. Oily hops, sweeter malt with just a touch of wood tannin on the finish. Some light spice as well. Mostly full bodied. Lush and creamy. Excellent texture with a lasting hoppy and tannic finish. Big thanks to Mike for this rare gem!
WeeHeavySD (1564), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA May 14, 2008 12 oz bottle from BBB63. Pours amber with a light tan head. Nose is sweet and hoppy and fragrant. Sweet hoppy and very resiny woody taste. Nice brew. IlanMan (472), Winona, Minnesota, USA Apr 30, 2008 Thanks to Haslinger for this brew. Appearance is dark golden with medium tan head. I get a lot of up front hop aroma with this along with some pine sap. Flavor has a lot of up front hop as well. I think you have to be a hop-head to enjoy this brew. I happen to be one so I enjoyed it. I can see how it could be looked down upon for it is not so well balanced but I did enjoy it. I might even buy it again. Haslinger (464), Syracuse, New York, USA Apr 26, 2008 Bottle, Apparently this is brewed by a Purdue graduate. I got it in West Lafayette. Aroma is hoppy and a little bit oily pine. Taste is earthy and very hoppy as expected. Good, probably wouldn’t buy again but I am not disappointed that I have 5 more to drink TheRealBastard (81), New Jersey, USA Apr 9, 2008 This beer is good, but not great Thanks to BBB63 for it. Poured with hardly any head and had no smell at all. An over ripe orange peel color. I got some alcohol, bread, and earthly hops on the nose. Taste was on the dry end and empty. Was expecting more out of this DIPA, rather than the dry finish. The beer leaves you hanging; waiting for more. A decent beer just not thirst quenching.
