2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 weitz15 (340) - West Lafayette, Indiana, USA - SEP 9, 2010
Light amber pour with no head at all. Aroma is heavy in citrus and malts. Medium body. The bitter flavor brings this beer down. Light on hops but a bitter palate.

12 oz bottle. nothing too surprising. banana, orange body. i agree that flooding this beer with hops could be a nice addition.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - NOV 22, 2003
The appearance was a small sized white head with fine-small bubbles that completely dissipated during my rating. The body was uncarbonated, clear with a orange hue. The nose was malty, fruity, some spice with banana notes and the flavor was fruity and spicy. The mouthfeel was smooth and fruity. The lacing was very sparse.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 thedm (4124) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 17, 2003
This brew poured a small head of fine to medium sized white colored mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated yellow orange colored body. The aroma was a mild malt hop one and the mouthfeel was smooth with a lingering fruity finish. The flavor was a mild malt hop one with a balance of fruit.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 matta (1140) - Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 27, 2003
UPDATED: OCT 28, 2003 Woo Doggy; I’m the 7th rater of the Back Road Weiss, thanks to the BigBadBear63 for the hook up! I should have gone with the straight pour into my Erdinger wizen glass for the frothy head effect.
The body is a pale orange / bronzy color, little head due to my crappy pouring job. The aroma and flavor are very much in conjunction, BIG orange and tangerine peals, and coriander, absolute notes of banana, as well as a yeasty soft doughy sensation.
If the palate were more abundant, maybe creamier or oilier it would certainly be getting higher marks. Thanks for the brew Mike; I enjoyed it!

Clear yellow gold with no head (I could only get big bubbles even with a hard pour). Spicey banana yeast nose. Thin body with initial apricot, apple and banana fruit flavors. Lemon and spice try to come to the fore but fall short. Back Road has some much better beers.

Orange smell, orange color and no head. Very thin even at the pour, hints of what could have been spice but not enough to make a differance.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Wrath (362) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - SEP 4, 2003
Hazy yellow color.Aroma is lightly fruity with yeast the main smell. Smooth drinking with that classic wheat feel in your mouth.Finishes plain. Could use a little shot of hops or something to spice it up.

Nice easy drinkin', weed wackin', chillin' and grillin' on the patio weiss. Mostly I tasted and smelled banana lemony freshness. Body was soft, flavors could use more ooomph, but it's all right!
