It’s like drinknig a healthy breakfast An original twist to the brown ales commonly found at BSB, very good.

From the Jug at the GABF Colorado Convention Center, Denver 09/10/2008 Fruit aroma. Dark coloured strong in alcohol and fruity with a crisp and dry malt finish.

I’m going by memory on this one, it’s been along time since it’s be available. Pours a deep brown hue, with some foxy dark amber peeks. The nose was very malty with the raisins filling in the back, nice. Flavor had rich, thick maltiness leading to notes of brown sugar, caramel, and dark fruits. The raisins add a nice finish, smooth and extremely inviting brew, would be an excellent beer to pair with a nice piece cut of meat, or a plate of "pork chops ’n applesause"...

This brew was on-tap at Stone on 5/13/08 as well, so I am a little confused. Anyway, I’m glad WeeHeavySD added it. Pours cloudy brown with an off-white head, no lace. Smells woody and malty and sweet like wine barrels? It’s raisins, I guess. Tastes malty sweet, slightly woody, whiskey and boozey on the finish. There is a bit of fruitiness as well, grapes and plums I thought, but I guess it’s raisins. Medium body, fizzy carbonation. I like the flavor, although weird.

Cask at Hamilton’s, the very last dregs shared with Darkelf. Pours reddish brown with a tan head. Nose is sharp and unappealing. Taste was syrupy. I hate to give a new beer a low rating but this was not my bag.
