COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the Northwestern United States comes a most intriguing Ale. This wheat beer is served unfiltered to embellish the splendor of it’s flavors. This darling of the industry is often served with a slice of lemon to compliment the mild and refreshing acidity of the beer. 1st place California State Fair ’02,’05 & ’06.

I had this on tap in Irvine. In spite of the name, this isn’t a hefeweizen. The brewer indicated that it’s a cloudy wheat ale. They use the hefe label for customer appeal. It’s yellow, cloudy and that’s about it. not much going on.

On tap at Vista location. Poured a color of dark gold that was slightly murky. Aroma of wheat, vanilla, honey and bread. Flavor was pretty blah, with corn, bread, wheat and honey. Not great.

Sample at the Irvine brewpub. This beer is a cloudy yellow color with a medium thin bone white head that dissipates slowly. Top spotty ring of lacing, with nothing underneath. Aroma of wheat and fruit, with a touch of malt. Medium, clean body with citrus and wheat flavors. The finish is fruity with a light wheat and clove aftertaste. Pretty standard fare overall.

Tap @ Vista location. Poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Light wheaty citrus aroma. Moderate amount of citrus wheat in the flavor. Not really showing the typical esters and phenols of a hefe. Light bodied.
