BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 10, 2008 Pours a thick creamy blackness into the glass, with a big tan head. All the aroma qualities are in nice balance here, with some dark roasted coffee, milk chocolate and caramel. Lots of cold coffee flavors throughout, that become kind of grainy and tiresome. Don’t get me wrong I still like drinking it, but it would have been nice if it brought a little more to the table. ChrisJ (98), Denver, Colorado, USA May 18, 2008 On tap @ the brewery. Pours in black with a creamy two fingered tan head. The aroma is classic stout, espresso, dark chocolate malt. The flavor was BIG coffee. It is actually a little arresting. The coffe ground flavor runs everything else over. The finish is bitter, coffee finish. The mouth feel is medium. I like coffee and I liked the coffee in this stout but it was a little too unbalanced for me. Still a very nice stout. jcwattsrugger (3793), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 8, 2007 on nitro-pours a retaining creamy tan head and black color. Aroma is coffee grounds. Taste is wet coffee grounds, dark malt, roasty. Minimum carbonation. Not my style. norsedoc (154), USA Jul 24, 2007 Tap at brewery. Pours dark black with brown head which settles after 30 seconds or so. Coffee aroma. Dry, full body with coffee again. Finishes clean with the desire for another sip. Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Aug 23, 2006 tap at the brewpub. poured a solid matte balck with a lingering yellow nitro head. cold coffee ground nose with a good light cocoa aroma. the taste was muted cocoa & coffee, light marshmallow. gets better as it warms(served a bit too cold IMO) solid coffee finish.
