3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2010 22 oz bomber purchased at Antlers in Frisco, Colorado. Best before N 10 marked on the bottle. Pour is a hazed brown black with a light tan two inch head. Aroma is mild roast, muted pine and a big soda mineral element. Taste is the nose, nice balance between mild roast and dry mineral with a hint of floral pine hop. Palate is medium to thin, crisp, dry and drinkable. Nice enough.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Beer has a rich chocolate aroma with very low hop aroma and light esters. Beer poors black with a thin tan head. Flavor has a light sweetness, medium bitterness that is accentuated by the roasted malts. One the first drink, a light sour note is detected but fades quickly as the beer warms. Palate has a minor astringency, medium light body, creamy texture and average carbonation. Overall a nice porter, well done.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours an opaque brown with big, frothy light tan head and some stringy lacing. Aroma is mild roasted malt, chocolate/cocoa, sweet. Flavor is mild roast, sweet cocoa, mild chocolate finish. Soft carbonation, medium-light body, very smooth and drinkable. Enjoyable, sweet, with mild chocolate and roast. Only complaint is that the flavor could be stronger, bolder, otherwise quite pleasant. A mild, tasty, smooth porter.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Standard porter with good body and a better finish than some. Roasted flavors are right up front, but fade just in time to keep the finish from being too dry and bitter. Bit of smoke to it, as well.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown, pretty thin and transparent core. Finger thick fast fading head. Nice, but weak caramel and toasted malt nose. Upfront caramel sweetness with a slightly bitter coffee tinged finish. Decent porter. Inoffensive, good for the price, no complaints.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the brewpub. Poured a deep brown with an amber tint and a khaki head. Aromas of big coffee, cocoa nibs, toffee, and espresso. Taste is much the same with flavors of espresso, roast, chocolate, and coffee. Creamy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Pretty good porter and probably the best beer of my flight.
