Draught. Pours nut brown with a spotty and patchy head. Aroma is clove, caramel malt, corriander, nutty and light sweet milk chocolate. Medium bitterness, caramel and nutty malt flavor, clove and yeast (sweat, leather) and buttery finish. Medium bodied and smooth, dry palate.

Tastes and smells like they made this with a Belgian yeast strain, has an almond like nuttiness, mixed with some spice of clove and coriander, with some caramel and toffee as well. This could be a decent recipe with a bit of tweaking, but overall a nice experiment that was pretty easy to drink.

I would not quite has characterized this as a brown ale. Seemed a little to light for a brown, almost an amber. Like a wheaty type yeast strain, with some corriander and clove, with a bit of husky funkiness floating around in their as well. Caramel and toffee, with some nice nuttiness, that is very underplayed in the maltiness. Interesting, but needs some work.

On tap at brewpub. Very nice spiced aroma. Corriander, cinnamon and maybe vanilla. Very interresting take on a brown. My favorite at the pub.

Seasonal Winter on tap 3/5/06. Brown amber with nice clarity. Very spicy aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste just like it smells but the pleasantly balanced with the spice. Spicy aftertaste, very complex. Some amber qualities. Nice
