COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Telemark IPA. Our GABF Gold Medal Winner has a very characteristic copper color from a blend of lightly kilned malts coupled with distinctive bitterness and flavor from Washington stateĎs finest hops. This brew is a true Representation of a British Classic! Weíve changed the classification from an IPA to a Pale Ale because of the evolving hop profiles. When this recipe was originally created in 1996, it was an IPA, but now fits better in the Pale Ale category. The name has changed, but it is still the same great beer.

12 oz. bottle from Wilburís. Appearance: finger khaki head, orange/copper yellow color, clear, ok lacing. Aroma: floral, caramel, light lemon/orange. heavy pine. Palate: light body, less than average carbonation, light bitter finish, slightly sticky texture. Taste: light sweet floral taste, into sweet pine and finally light bitter pine. Overall, not very hoppy, pine really is heavy, but not unpleasant. Balance is just so so and nothing special.

ajnepple (2001) - Clear Creek, Colorado, USA - MAY 9, 2014
On tap at The WoodCellar, served in a shaker pint. Light amber and clear appearance with a thin, lingering, frothy white head. Thick lacing and active carbonation. Aroma of fresh hops, pine, grass, herbs, citrus zest, light tropical fruits and toasted malts. Similar flavor, mild bitterness, mild sweetness, light notes of toffee and caramel. Average body, crisp and easy to drink. I like this one, probably the best beer Iíve tried from the brewery.

Clear gold with fading white head. Aroma is medium hops. Taste starts sweet, a little sour bitterness in the middle, but it works out OK. Medium bodied, watery palate.

Bottle into glass. Pours a golden color with white head. Lacing is present. Smells hoppy. Beer has hints if caramel, pine and lots of hops. Decent and easy to drink. Light body. Kinda seems to me that it should still be an ipa, but hey, I'm not close to being the professional right?

Iíve had this several times over the years on tap and in the 22 oz bottle. Rating from May 31 at the brewery: Pours copper with small head and lace. Light hop and malt aroma. Significant carbonation and moderate mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts and straw & slight pink grapefruit hops. Itís tasty enough that Iíve walked away with bombers on occasion.
