glkaiser (911), Seattle, Washington, USA May 17, 2006 On tap at brewpub. I quite enjoyed this wheat. Very sweet. Hazy golden color. Good summer brew. BeerandBlues2 (2473), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 18, 2006 Draught. Pours deep gold and copper with a patchy white head and spotty lacing. Aroma is banana, clove and wheat, yeast (dough). Medium bitterness, wheat and honey, malt, banana and clove flavor. Medium bodied and creamy palate. bkelley68 (468), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Jan 15, 2005 Orange body with a whipped cream head. Orange and coriander in teh nose. Light citrus flavors, with a tangy, dryness. Finishes with sour citrus notes and a little bit of spicy hops. aracauna (2238), Georgia, USA Dec 22, 2006 Slightly hazed golden body with good lacing. The flavor is a little watery, but the wheat is present. Good spicing, but definitely reserved. Not a top tier witbier (what the menu listed it as), but defintely refreshing. Pigfoot (2225), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 21, 2004 Faint haze, light yellow, with a faint white head.
Aroma: mild, with orange, citrus notes, little spices...smells a bit closer to a wit than a weizen.
Taste: just a touch of weizen texture, just a whisper, okay, actually none, very light body, nigh-on-neglible finish...yeah, it disappears way too quick from the palate. Very minimal brew here, but I always remember what a market there is for this king of thing, and can’t complain too loudly if a small brewery/brewpub/restaurant wants to keep the wives and girlfriends happy.
Not as bad as Leinenkugel’s HoneyWeiss, if that’s any consolation.
And one of only two bombers from these guys that I wasn’t crazy about, so 3 out of 5 ain’t bad!
