COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer starts with a very sweet malt aroma. Our Barelywine has a very sweet and fruity flavor that is somewhat balanced by a very large hop additions, and it’s pronounced alcohol flavor. Barelywine has a definite warming effect, similar to a robust red wine. This beer is for enthusiasts and adventurous souls only!

On tap at Wynkoop poured a clear amber with a lingering ring of ivory foam. Aromas of earthiness, toffee, fruittiness and light carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of earthiness, toffee, fruittiness and light carmel with a smooth lingering fruity earthy finish.

Pour on tap at the brewery was clear dark red with thin white head that dissipated quickly, obviously some alcohol in here. Aroma brought notes of slight ethanol, big sweet caramel and toffee but balanced nicely but some grass and pine hops, touch of dark fruit notes as well as some toasted bread. Taste is a nice mix of bitter pine, some slight fruity orange, and caramelized sugars, hints of earth finishing fairly sweet but a dryness helps you drink more. Pretty nice.

GABF 2009. Pours clear orange with an average, frothy off-white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), light hop (perfume), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates, apple, and brown sugar. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.
