Aroma chocolate

355ml bottle (exp 30/3/2015). Pours opaque dark brown with an average sized beige head that reduces to a stable collar. Nose is intensely chocolatey (almost like milk chocolate) with a light hop presence. Palate is deliciously smooth and creamy with sweet milk chocolate malts on the tongue and a low bitterness to the finish. Medium bodied and not too rich to fill you up. Probably the pick of Backer’s beers I have tasted in Brazil.

I enjoyed this. A fairly strong chocolate throughout, starting with the aroma. Not too sweet and a medium body that works.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Too much chocolat flavor. Very sweet and the foam goes away quickly. Light beer, easy too drink, but i wouldnt repeat it.

BOTTLE.This ain’t so bad. It reminded me of the Veuve Noire by Le Grimoire (!!!), only it was better and feeling less artificial. Instead of Count Chocula cereals, it reminded me more of Cocoa Peebles ones. Curious amelioration. But an honorable one though. Body is thin. And Better Off Dead is starring John Cusack.

Very dark brown in colour with a frothy off white head. Aroma has very noticeable chocolate and coffee notes with light roasting. Taste is sweet with chocolate and coffee. The finish is not too bitter. Maybe a bit watery and lacks a bit of complexity. Overall quite a nice easy drinking brown ale and I actually like they’ve gone pretty heavy handed with the chocolate. Backer’s best

Poured from a longneck bottle into a tulip. Thin, fragile beige head, with subtle lacing. Medium brown color, opaque. Aroma is very sweet, mixing chocolate with biscuit. Watery feel. Easily drinkable. Very mild bitterness and a short aftertaste. The main flavor is evidently chocolate. Very unique beer, completely different from other beers where the chocolate flavor comes from the roasted malt itself (Backer has real chocolate added during the brewing process). Interesting as a "dessert beer".
