COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Bavarian Weizen is a light and refreshing German style wheat beer. Its cloudy appearance and spicy flavor can be attributed to the Old World yeast used to make it.
Note: Formerly Einfach Weizen.

Hazy peach gold pour with a thin soapy, white head. Aroma of wheat, raw yeast, green banana, and cereal grain. Flavor is loaded with raw yeast and cloves up front, some banana and a little odd, green wood tartness. Light to medium body with a slick entry light, but sharp and blanketing carbonation and dry, borderline astringent, but somehow slightly slimy and slick finish. All around not very good, it tastes like it’s pulled out a primary fermentation tank before it is done.

on tap @ Backpocket Brewing / Coralville IA --- Hazy light amber, thick rim head, lace sheets that slide back into the glass. Sweet malt and wheat add citrus and coriander in the palate. Carbonation in the finish brings things back into balance. Sweet carries the day here, quite effectively, reducing the need for hop bittering. A tasty, solid Hefe.

6/14/14. 12oz bottle from Happy’s in Cedar Falls. Hazy orange pour with a nice khaki head that sticks well. Okay aroma - creaminess, vanilla, some banana, citrus, and phenolics - throws just a touch too much of that rubber band type aspect for me. I am really digging the flavor, though. Creamy vanilla and cream, a dose of bitterness and phenolics, orange peel, creamsicle almost in a way. Just a touch of lingering bitterness and just a hint of tartness. Quite tasty, actually.

Bottle. Aroma of spices, clove, dough, banana. Light golden color, hazy, thin white head. Taste was light sweet and spicy. Thin body, very bubbly carbonation, spicy finish with mild bitterness. Ok overall but not one of my favorite hefeweizens.

Cred thruster hooked up by Pepsican which is very chill if youre askin. Sweet banana dough. Bit muddled, dirty hefeweizen yeast. bit too sweet. Okay.

12oz bottle 9/28/13 (Hy-Vee Cedar Rapids)-Pours a murky orange with a decent white head. Aroma of banana, clove, coriander, and wheat. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew was not too shabby for a Hefe.

On tap at the brewery. Pale orange and hazy with a white head. Aroma of wheat malts, clove, spices, herbs, cinnamon and banana. Similar flavor, mild bready malt sweetness and a light fruitiness. Average body, crisp with carbonation and a refreshing finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is as expected: banana, clove, spices. Flavor is similar to aroma but stronger, better. Not bad.

Bottle at home. Pours clear and effervescent gold with a large, fizzy white head, short retention with no lacing. Aroma is banana, spicy and earthy wheat and biscuit malt, and light pear esters with no hop character. Flavor is lightly tart earthy and spicy wheat malt, banana and pear esters, light clove notes, faint earthy hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium-light body and heavy carbonation.
