12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy cola brown with a thin fizzy off white head. Aroma of leather, caramel, and biscuits. Overly carbonated. Tingles the tongue. Pretty thin bodied. Caramel and biscuits give it a sweet and salty effect. Roasted malts are there subtly. Didn’t expect much so wasn’t really let down

Draft at Backpocket Brewery. Pours amber with small off white head. Nose and taste is caramel and bread. Maybe a little hop. A little too malty for me.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
on tap @ Backpocket Brewing / Coralville IA --- Clear amber brown, heavy rim head, blobs of lace. Toasted malt opens things, adding clay and carbonation, effectively coating the roof of the mouth for a finish that feels like something was left out. Not satisfying, and not recommended.

Big frozen mug serving at some chop house in Muscatine. Brown and clear with an off-white head. Aroma of dark malts, bread, caramel, toffee and chocolate. Similar flavor, nutty malts and light bitter hops. Average body, a little thin. OK.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not so dark. Lots of carbonation, but overall a better lager than the other mediocre popular ones (ahem: Bud, Miller and so)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear copper appearance with a large tan head and nice lacing. Subtle aroma of caramel malts set in a briar patch. Smooth, earthy, moderately sweet taste. Medium bodied mouthfeel with average carbonation that leads to a short lived finish.
