This one didn’t deliver for me. I love dunkels and spent a few months living in Munich, but this was a step under.

Clear amber colour with a small white head. Sweet malt aroma with mild bitterness. The flavour is hops, mild bitterness, lots of sweetness and toasted malt. Nothing really wrong with this one.

On draught at the brewpub in McGregor, Iowa. Pours a clear copper amber brew with an average creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma is malty with scents of caramel malt, some toffee, a hint of chocolate and some honey. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of mostly caramel, toffee, some dark bread crust and a hint of chocolate. Finish is smooth, creamy with a short aftertaste of caramel malt.
