Pours a hazy straw gold with an inch of white foam. Good lacing, no aroma to speak of. Tastes of light dry wheat, with a hint of lemon, and a tangy hop bitterness. Light body, smooth carbonation. An ’intro-to-beer’ variety that is nothing to get excited about, but is obviously well made and decent enough for what it is.

This is NOT a hefeweizen. They claim it is a Koelsch. It is a watery wheat beer.

On tap at the brewpub. The body was hazy pale yellow with a white head. The aroma was leamons and black pepper spice with some biscuti. The taste was black pepper spice with some lemon peel zest. A nice clean finish.

A heavy carbonated yellow beer with nice lacing and a hazy light honey color. Orange citrus on the nose. Smooth crisp finish. Not a lot of yeast in the body.

Skyview (4859) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - APR 30, 2007
On tap at the Backwater Brewing (Actually it is more like a bowling alley with a brewpub added). Pours a hazy golden pale yellow brew with a fast dissolving white head. Very good glass lacing. Aroma has citrus orange peel, a touch of banana, and a faint wheat/grain malt. Taste is highly carbonated and lacking the yeast I am used to in wheat beers. Good balance finish and lightly sweet. This beer tastes more like a kölsch than a hefeweizen without the yeast.

DiscoForever (71) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 16, 2005
The first of the sampler at the brewery and actually their best drop. Appears a hazed pale yellow with a faint aroma of straw/hay and a little fruit. Tartness overwhelmes the taste and it finishes with a mostly wheat taste and a fresh, slightly sharp bitterness. Body is a little too fizzy and light with a rough carb/grainy feel. Okay summer quencher with enough edge to give it some interest.

On tap at the Brewpub. Pale yellow with no head. Big bubbles. Bread-like aroma. Maybe alfalfa. Good rich flavor. Interesting buttery finish (slight diacyl?). A thick beer. Definitely the best offering by this brewer.
