Bomble Bee 17 turned out pretty much how we wanted a pilsener style lager from our backyard brewery to be. Golden colour and a pearly white head. Elegant dry body and a refreshing bitterness. But then, while lagering, our brewmaster chose to bombard the brew with hops to give the beer its final profile. Grassy Saaz battling Flowery Willamette for your nose’s attention. We call it a Hop-Struck Pilsener.

This beer reminds me little bit of Brooklyn Lager but this is not quite as good.

330ml can from Ocado. Clear golden orange colour, huge frothy white head bubbles up during pour but quickly collapses into a very thin head. Aroma is quite fruity, hops, sweet, malt, pine. Sweet, fruity flavour with a hoppy, grapefruit bitterness to finish.

Cool with a pilsner where they have put some more hops into the brew. Works nicely to the dinner or as a thirst quencher.

330ml PET bottle from Systembolaget, Farsta, ABV 4.7%. Clear golden, medium size, white head, good lacing. Mid-hoppy aroma, caramel, citrus, grass and white bread. Medium carbonated, light, watering, fresh mouthfeel. Mid-sweet taste, caramel, red apples and biscuits. Grassy notes in the finish.

Can. The Bee17, 4.7% ABV. Pours a clear deep golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of caramel, grain, some cereal, slight pine, subtle orange and grassy hops. Taste of caramel, grain, slight metallic and grassy hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, slightly metallic, grassy hop bitterness in the finish. It’s not terrible, slightly better than mass produced rubbish but it’s malty, metallic and thin.

As "Bee17 4.7%" Dark golden colour. The aroma and flavour have light fruity, hop. An ok thirst quencher. Marginally better than a regular lager.

Backlog from lost & found notes: Aroma is weak, but contains a fruity and citrusy tone with a very faint note of pine. Medium bodied and tastes actually pretty OK for being a macro. Low malts and somewhat sweet with pears, melons and citrus. Decent!
