Cask conditioned gravity dispense Northants Beer Festival 2011. A dark dark brown coloured beer with barely any head. Quite sweet in the nose with caramel notes. Licorice and chocolate in the mouth. Sweet fruits. Caramel. A decent porter.

Cask Stillage from the Cellar at the Prince Of Wales, Foxfield 12/03/2011 Fruity aroma. Dark coloured and a little rich on the palate with some spicy liquorice flavour. A hint of dryness in a bitter roast finish.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, 30 April 2009. Dark brown with a ruby tinge. Something unusual here that I can’t quite identify. Ah - D&B stands for dandelion & burdock, that’ll explain it. It’s quite restrained but definitely there. Also berry fruit on the palate but finishes dry and slightly ashy. I can’t stand dandelion & burdock so, even if the influence is subtle and the beer competently made, I can’t say I found it particularly appealing.

Cask at the Courthouse, Dudley. Pours dark brown with a deep ruby hue and a small head. Aroma was bitter coffee. Had a coffee start and a milk chocolate finish.

Bottle. Thisis now my nearest brewery and this is my first experiece of one of their beers. Light brown with some maltiness and a medium body. Quite powerful for its strength and rather distinctive. Hope all their other beers are as pleasant as this one. Well bottled as well.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 09. Very very dark brown. Quite lasting beige head. Vinous dark fruity aroma. A little rubbery maybe. Good blackberry blackcurrant fruit throughout. A bit of tar, but I like the cab sauv qualities.
