Gravity pour at cpfcbf. Pours dark brown. Aroma is slightly toasty, a little dark fruit, lemon. Light body, medium carbonation. Some light coffee, light caramel, touch of blackcurrant. Tastes a bit too tart - not right. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at CPBF 2014. It pours deep brown with pretty much no head. The nose is earth, toast, plum pudding, spice, cherry cola, caramel, jam and dried fruits. The taste is toasty, tangy fruits, berry, plum skin, date, earth, toasty and raisin with a dryish finish. Touch if tang, suggests early infection. Medium body and soft carbonation. So-so.

Cask@the avion, aldridge. Dark reddish brown with small head. Aroma is light dandelion and burdock pop, the cheap stuff and some roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts and plums. Decent.

Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a frothy off-white head. The aroma is light fruit hop. The flavour is light bitter with a roasted malt light bitter "dandelion and burdock" fruit palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. A pleasant ale and very drinkable but Iím not sure that Iím into fruity porters tbh. Those people that are will rate it higher than I did. Cask in 2014 so not exactly "retired".

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Northants Beer Festival 2011. A dark dark brown coloured beer with barely any head. Quite sweet in the nose with caramel notes. Licorice and chocolate in the mouth. Sweet fruits. Caramel. A decent porter.

Cask Stillage from the Cellar at the Prince Of Wales, Foxfield 12/03/2011 Fruity aroma. Dark coloured and a little rich on the palate with some spicy liquorice flavour. A hint of dryness in a bitter roast finish.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, 30 April 2009. Dark brown with a ruby tinge. Something unusual here that I canít quite identify. Ah - D&B stands for dandelion & burdock, thatíll explain it. Itís quite restrained but definitely there. Also berry fruit on the palate but finishes dry and slightly ashy. I canít stand dandelion & burdock so, even if the influence is subtle and the beer competently made, I canít say I found it particularly appealing.

Bottle. Thisis now my nearest brewery and this is my first experiece of one of their beers. Light brown with some maltiness and a medium body. Quite powerful for its strength and rather distinctive. Hope all their other beers are as pleasant as this one. Well bottled as well.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 09. Very very dark brown. Quite lasting beige head. Vinous dark fruity aroma. A little rubbery maybe. Good blackberry blackcurrant fruit throughout. A bit of tar, but I like the cab sauv qualities.
