(Bottled) I was looking forward to this because it stated ’Cascadian’ on the bottle , thus i optimistically expected a hoppy dark monster, imdownthepub is right not to list this as a Black IPA ; but not to say its not pleasant. notes of roast malt, toffee , present licorice notes . The hop profile here ismore shy and breezy than one would seek in a’ Cascadian’ type beer

Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest ’11. Dark chestnut with cream head. Initially quite malty sweet, some dark liquorice notes with plummy fruity notes and then a pleasing leafy hoppy follow through. Nice and fresh despite the conditions in the beer fest the previous night. Good stuff.
