Clear medium brown amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, light notes of coffee, light yeasty, leather, barnyard notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft, finish feel is light metalic. [20090122]

Cask at Smithfield Hotel, Manchester. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, cream caramel, and toffee, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is light.

Hop and some fruit aromas. Bronze coloured and fruity with a little dryness and bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Cask, Pennyblacks, Birmingham, UK. A very good example of an English session bitter. Asubtle toffee flavour, malt and hops well balanced and a nice lingering, slightly fruity finish.

Roasted malty caramel flavor wit some hints of coffee. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.
