3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(0,33cl bottle) From the 2012 Advent Calendar. Great aroma and surprising - with Oat Soda one would think STOUT. Alas, this is a decent DIPA. European malt base gives away its origins but all in all very enjoyable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mahogany pour with a thick, frothy off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit and then a ton of sticky sweetness - caramel, apricot, cane sugar. As noted below, hight carbonation, quite frothy in mouth. Flavour is grapefruit, pine, herbal, and then sweet notes with flavours mentioned above. The finish is a little boozy, bitter and medicinal.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, Dec. 4th, Beer Advent Calendar. DUDE! Extra points right away for honouring the Big Lebowski! Surprisingly deep amber, with a head that is so excited, it demands to be poured in instalments. If "Agressivenness of Carbonation" were a category in scoring, this beer would receive a 5/5. Leaves an absolute mess of lace down the glass. Aroma is white grapefruit (i.e. lower on the sweetness than ruby), sweet toffee, and a faint medicinal quality. Sweet toffee malt backs up bitter hops that hd both grapefruit and medicinal qualities for me. Not bad-- but wow am I burpy now!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml brown bottle, from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Orange pour, hazy. Quite a lot of off white foam on top, tons of lacing. Nose has some spicy hops, orange peels, caramel sweetness. Taste has caramel malt base, touch of toasted grain, big zesty orange peel, slight grapefruit and spicy piney hop. Bitterness come in late, finishes pretty dry. Not much alcohol showing. Medium body with a lot of carbonation. Overall not bad, carbonation could be toned down a bit and the hops ramped up a bit, but this is quite drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy deep red with with a huge frothy light brown head that lasts forever and leaves tons of lace. Aroma of citrus, pine & butter caramel. Taste is a bit light but is grapefruit & pine up front and then some sweet caramel and a nice bit of bitterness on the finish. High carbonation that works well & hides the abv.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Advent calendar #4. Yep, glad I didn’t drink these as soon as I got them and waited instead. ;-) Very frothy, like their other beers. Aroma is grapefruit on top, butterscotch below (ahem). Bitter butter on my bud. Finish is pretty sweet, more citrus and butterscotch. The carbonation is fun, I don’t see it as a hindrance. The viscosity screams oat with its heavy smoothness, and the diacetyl is largely covered by the hops. Alcohol is largely untraceable. Original.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dec 4 CBAC. Another surprise. Glad I am opening these one by one and day by day in the season. Glass is half beer half head. Dark slightly dirty well carbonated copper. Spicy cedar hop scent. Flavour has big hops and a strong sulphur edge, is that the yeast? Takes a while to pour with that big head, need to eat a few spoonfuls to move the process along. Bad attitude = bad carbonation? Tastes a little smooth with the pour complete. Still a little bit of baking soda edge; maybe that is what is meant by "Oat Soda" on the bottle. Does get tastier itch each sip, who said familiarity breeds contempt, not at Christmas.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle from Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours a red-brown colour with a thick and full beige head. Aromas of citrusy and pine hops, and caramel malts. Taste is of bitter hops, with a sweet caramel to round it out. Medium length dry finish. Subdued for a quasi-double IPA, but still very nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured out a deep red brew with a huge light tan head that settled very slow into a thick mat. Peachy and pine, unsweetened grapefruit, slight tropical nose as well. The taste is tasty and subdued which works. Rrgf, peach, weak pine and a light bite. Light caramel, some sharpness and good bitterness. An average IPA. Good for beginners and virgins of a hop raping.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle pours amber in color with a huge off-white head that has great retention leaving some very nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrusy and earthy with caramel notes. Taste is earthy and citrus hop bitterness with an underlying caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with nice carbonation leaving a pleasant mouthfeel. A nicely done IPA that must be sampled.
