It’s an IPA, India Pale Ale, amber colored and with a strong hoppy aroma.

A beer that’s been made for thirsty people, to be drank without too much thinking, to be enjoyed while strolling down the streets on warm evenings.

In brewing Hobo we used a big amount of rye (29 %) and 10 % wheat, plus five different kinds of malted barley. We decided to use hops from America and New Zealand: we used Nelson Sauvin during FWH and in whirlpooling, while in the next two additions we used Amarillo and Cascade.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2015 330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a dark amber color forming a small creamy tan head that dissipates quickly leaving few lingering lacings in the glass. S: Strong notes of caramel malts. Notes of rotten red fruits. Roasted malts. Flowery and grassy hops profile. Earthy yeasts. T: Slightly sweet upfront. toffee, caramel malts, roasted malts. Good hops bitterness. Hops are citrus and earthy. In overall, a dry and smooth taste. Balanced. M: Light to medium body. Good carbonation. Caramel and roasted malts and flowery hops aftertaste. O: Decent and drinkable but difficult to call it an IPA. It’s more for over hopped British Bitter or Strong Amber Ale. [ BA Review @ 7/1/2013 ]

33 cL bottle at home. Pours hazy dark brown with a medium off-white head. Not quite what I was expecting. Aroma is a bit grassy with some rye and caramel. Taste is a bit malty and a bit bland. Not much hoppiness. Medium body and carbo.

33 cL bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a flute. Pours hazy toffee with a small beige head that mostly remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big fruity notes, with moderate pine and a slight lemon accent. The flavour is moderately sweet with fruit and candy notes. Hops are relatively subtle. The finish is medium in length and fairly sweet. Hops are minimal. On the palate it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, a malty sweet IPA with fruity notes. I would have liked for a bigger hop profile and more bitterness. 2014-07-19

33cl bottle from Drinks of the World, Winterthur. Pours reddish amber, glowing deep orange in the light, big foamy head. Fruity hop aroma. Taste is big prickly hop zest, fruity notes from the rye, moderately sweet character bordering on resiny. Flavoursome & tasty but probably not quite at its freshest. Still.. a very nice IPA.

No trace of hops. Dark amber. Lost a lot of taste because of time (hopefully). Tastes more like a low-end bière de garde than an IPA.

Bottle. Pours dirty brown with off white head. Nose and taste of pine, earthy dirt, old citrus and caramel. Medium body.
