It’s an IPA, India Pale Ale, amber colored and with a strong hoppy aroma.

A beer that’s been made for thirsty people, to be drank without too much thinking, to be enjoyed while strolling down the streets on warm evenings.

In brewing Hobo we used a big amount of rye (29 %) and 10 % wheat, plus five different kinds of malted barley. We decided to use hops from America and New Zealand: we used Nelson Sauvin during FWH and in whirlpooling, while in the next two additions we used Amarillo and Cascade.

Hazy dark amber color, with creamy head, beige. Aroma of malt, hop, puke, yeast. Caramel flavor, with decent hopping level, mild hop resins, very light piney touch, and long final.
Now labeled as IPA, this is still an hopped Amber Ale, drinkable but not exciting.

Buona birra, forse un pò canonica, non colpisce ma non si può certe dire che non sia fatta a dovere.

On tap at Selezione Birra 2012, Rimini. Pours amber with a nice white head. Aroma is hoppy with peach and pineapple, lots of it. Taste is fruity again with a nice amount of bitterness. Very similar to an IPA in style. Good carbonation. Never had so much pineapple note, not even in IPAs. This one was delicious.

.Equilibrata, luppolata in bocca, leggermente fruttata, finale amaro. Ipa molto classica e pulita ma manca il colpo di genio. Comunque gradevole.

Bottle in Genoa, purchased from a small curio shop in the Genoa old town. Light haze on this amber beer. Big creamy pale tan head. Light palate, a little soft. Nice malts here, smooth caramel toffee. Hops seem to have gone walkabout though! Where is the claimed Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo? Just a trace of fruit buried in the semi dry finish. Could easily pass as a Scotch Ale rather than an IPA as claimed on the bottle!

Secondo me, questa amber ale o Ipa formato switzerland, non è niente male. Bel colore ramato, aroma fruttato che resiste fino al termine, e anche in bocca è equilibrata.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Cloudy dark amber, rich lively head. Citric piney yeasty nose. Mid sweet with heavy carbonation. Mediun bodied with clean, spritzy mouthfeel. Caramel and lemon washing up liquid. Some lactic acid in a mildy resiny finish. Fresh sample, probably suffering from a light infection.

In bottiglia all’O Connor Pub di Genova; finalmente sono arrivate anche nei locali liguri. Color mogano, aroma di tè, sapore ben luppolato, mi è piaciuta
