Itís an IPA, India Pale Ale, amber colored and with a strong hoppy aroma.

A beer thatís been made for thirsty people, to be drank without too much thinking, to be enjoyed while strolling down the streets on warm evenings.

In brewing Hobo we used a big amount of rye (29 %) and 10 % wheat, plus five different kinds of malted barley. We decided to use hops from America and New Zealand: we used Nelson Sauvin during FWH and in whirlpooling, while in the next two additions we used Amarillo and Cascade.

courtesy of Laurent Mousson - cloudy dark amber brown colour, huge creamy beige foam and a nice lacing ; solid hoppy nose with notes of melon and apricot, cream and almond; velvety palate, medium to full malt backbone; a fair but not aggressive bitterness; very fruity hoppy finish with notes of peach and melon - Iím somehow not able to spot the quite high amount of rye here ...

Draught @ Le Resistencia, Barcelona. Pours a dark amber colour with a white head. Aroma of strong fresh grass, gooseberry bush and birch leaves. Flavour of fresh floral hops, herbs, juicy exotic fruitiness, weed, mild caramel and pale malts. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and very soft carbonation. Finishes mildly sweet, very bitter, floral and strong on juicy exotic fruitiness. Excellent.

33cl bottle from Drinks of the World, Winterthur. Pours reddish amber, glowing deep orange in the light, big foamy head. Fruity hop aroma. Taste is big prickly hop zest, fruity notes from the rye, moderately sweet character bordering on resiny. Flavoursome & tasty but probably not quite at its freshest. Still.. a very nice IPA.

On tap at Selezione Birra 2012, Rimini. Pours amber with a nice white head. Aroma is hoppy with peach and pineapple, lots of it. Taste is fruity again with a nice amount of bitterness. Very similar to an IPA in style. Good carbonation. Never had so much pineapple note, not even in IPAs. This one was delicious.

(funny little 33 cl bottle from Casa Evaristo; Bbd: December 20th 2014) Pours a dark copper with medium, tan head that has decent retention and leaves beautiful lacework. Decent regeneration too. Aroma is hopped and in a way where the hop smells like it came right out of the bag. Thatís impressive. I think thereís some underlying toffee malts there as well. Oily texture, medium carbonation, medium body and a soft, slightly sweet and fruity finish. Flavour has aroma notes and slight fruity sweetness, which compliments the hops well. Not an agressive IPA and with a very elegant and tasty malt profile far from being bonedry but also not vulgarly sweet and resiny. Would definitely drink again given the chance.

Bottle at Birroteca La Tana del Luppolo, Bologna, Italia, 25.02.11 Pours amber with white head, there is a touch of haze, good hoppy bite from the Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo. Bitterness stays, even a little stinging, touch of cheese on nose. Very enjoyable. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Buona birra, forse un pÚ canonica, non colpisce ma non si puÚ certe dire che non sia fatta a dovere.
