It’s an IPA, India Pale Ale, amber colored and with a strong hoppy aroma.

A beer that’s been made for thirsty people, to be drank without too much thinking, to be enjoyed while strolling down the streets on warm evenings.

In brewing Hobo we used a big amount of rye (29 %) and 10 % wheat, plus five different kinds of malted barley. We decided to use hops from America and New Zealand: we used Nelson Sauvin during FWH and in whirlpooling, while in the next two additions we used Amarillo and Cascade.

courtesy of Laurent Mousson - cloudy dark amber brown colour, huge creamy beige foam and a nice lacing ; solid hoppy nose with notes of melon and apricot, cream and almond; velvety palate, medium to full malt backbone; a fair but not aggressive bitterness; very fruity hoppy finish with notes of peach and melon - I’m somehow not able to spot the quite high amount of rye here ...

Un po’ incostante recentemente, ma generalmente molto buona. L’aroma è deciso e caratteristico, l’amaro intenso ma non stancante.

On tap at Selezione Birra 2012, Rimini. Pours amber with a nice white head. Aroma is hoppy with peach and pineapple, lots of it. Taste is fruity again with a nice amount of bitterness. Very similar to an IPA in style. Good carbonation. Never had so much pineapple note, not even in IPAs. This one was delicious.

Bottle at Birroteca La Tana del Luppolo, Bologna, Italia, 25.02.11 Pours amber with white head, there is a touch of haze, good hoppy bite from the Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo. Bitterness stays, even a little stinging, touch of cheese on nose. Very enjoyable. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Buona birra, forse un pò canonica, non colpisce ma non si può certe dire che non sia fatta a dovere.

Bottiglia 33cl @ mentelocale Ambrata abbastanza scura... Poca schiuma poco persistente. Amara, piuttosto fruttata. Buona ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iFonz

In bottiglia all’O Connor Pub di Genova; finalmente sono arrivate anche nei locali liguri. Color mogano, aroma di tè, sapore ben luppolato, mi è piaciuta

330ml brown bottle. Amber-deep gold colour, light haze. Creamy and airy beige foam that sticks around for a long time, lacing everywhere. Nose has grapefruit and oranges, zesty. Some nice contrasting caramel malt behind. In the mouth the beer has light citrus up front, some grains, a little caramel. Decent grapefruit aftertaste, some light earth sneaks in there as well. Mild carbonation, lightish body, goes down easily, overall a nicely hopped amber.
