Kurt, for us, means going back to our roots. Served in cans and in kegs, it’s a Pale Ale made to be drank in big amounts.

Hoping that Kurt will be the perfect "Gatewat Beer" for those who have only ever drunk industrial lager, we also want it to be appreciated for beer lovers on sunny summer days.

Kurt is brewed with Maris Otter malt and hops from the New World (Riwaka e Motueka). We use untreated water for brewing, which makes its unique mineral properties enhance the grassy notes of the hops.

Pale blond with massive head. Almost unpourable due to the massive amount of foam. Very grassy and lemony aroma. Fresh and quite tangy lemony, bitter hops. A great thirst quencher.

Tasted from the tap at the Barcelona Beer Fest (13/03/2015). Light yellow beer with low white head. Aroma of yeasts, bread and wheat. Taste is grainy and light, maybe a little watery. Next one please!

A light yelow beer with a weak and white head. Aroma is fresh and dominating by strong citrusfruits. Grapefruits, lemon, some tropical mangos, low fructose. Taste has grain, lemon and some mangos. Quite dry and sourness of citrusfruits in the end.The bitterness isn’t strong but clearly citrusfruity. Light but not watery, at least fresh. Citrusfruity and refreshning.

Can from K-Supermarket Kamppi, Helsinki. Pours clear golden with a towering frothy head - forms so much foam that you have to wait a while to be able to drink. The aroma displays fresh fruitiness with lemon and orange and some pale grainy notes in the background. Taste is light bitter; it displays initially almost more grainy maltiness than hops. The latter rises toward drying finish featuring citrus and grapefruit. The palate is light-bodied, fairly smooth. Decent, easy pale ale. A bit too lightly hopped for me.

Couleur jaune trouble; petite mousse blanche; arômes fruités mais discrets; goût houblonné avec finale amère; manque un peu de corps

Can @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy yellow color, huge soapy white head. My buddy Drebus says it smells like vomit, but I’ve got a cold and I don’t smell anything else than orangepeel. Taste lightly malts, decently bitter, some orangepeel again. Average body and carbonation. Weird aftertaste. Hmm average.

Can @ benzai. Slightly hazy pale yellow colour with a huge white head. Smells like a mix between puke, bile and cat urine. By far the worst smell I’ve experienced in quite a while. Tastes sweet, malty and slightly hoppy. The smell is so horrible I can’t finish it though. Sour, fermented onion puked up by a boulimic zombie or something. The smell almost physically hurts my nostrils. Thin body, soft carbo.

33 cl can (4,32%) @ home, no freshness info
Two full shakers of foam when pouring. Aroma has gooseberry bush, grapefruit and odd plastic notes. Flavour has grapefruit soda(!), some apricot and gooseberry bush leaves. A bit unclean feeling here.

Can (33cl): Served at 13 degrees Celsius in a Chouffe glass: Loud plop when opening. Glass was filled with foam. With every next pour it’s layer of foam on top of a layer of foam. After a while the hazy yellow body becomes slightly visible... The aroma reminds me of soap water with some manure and strange sewerish funk. After a while there’s little hop and lots of malts and oat (almost woody)... The flavour is already boring with a way too high carbonated beer as the body is quite watery and thin. After a while (that’s the only better point of mentioning this beer has) it becomes a little more like an APA, as the fruity hop tone seems to be a bit more present. But still woth the soap water and nutty malts with a strange but ok bitterness. Strange stuff, not a fan of this one. Now I have to see if I can open the Dude beer from this brewery. Previous beer wasn’t vert exciting either... 3 times....
