Kurt, for us, means going back to our roots. Served in cans and in kegs, it’s a Pale Ale made to be drank in big amounts.

Hoping that Kurt will be the perfect "Gatewat Beer" for those who have only ever drunk industrial lager, we also want it to be appreciated for beer lovers on sunny summer days.

Kurt is brewed with Maris Otter malt and hops from the New World (Riwaka e Motueka). We use untreated water for brewing, which makes its unique mineral properties enhance the grassy notes of the hops.

330ml can from Cornelius. Pours hazy yellow, thin bubbly white head. Aromas of light fruit, grass. Taste is light sweet, more grassy hops, some grape notes. Medium body, bitterness builds on the finish. Not bad.

Poured into a tall schooner from a 500cl can. Pale blond somewhat cloudy with a tall pure white head. Some lacing. Well constructed but not very complex. Light hoops for a pale ale but very drinkable. Not distinctive enough for Swiss premium pricing in my book.

Pale yellow. Very porous white foam, big bubbles and good retention, taking little time to dissipate. Citrus aromas (I would say grapefruit) and floral touches. Very smooth on the palate, with low carbonation and a medium-light body. Traces of cereal, yeast, citrus and flowers with some remarkable hoppy notes.

Can thnx to st247 Pours unclear blonde fast fading white head . Bit hoppy smell Too high carbo . Strange malty taste , bit bitter , way less aromahops than expected . Very gentle hoppy taste , but the malts are to forward for this type of beer . Even a very , very slightly sour touch . Not sure wether this is infected or normal ?

This was a reasonable pale ale with the classic Marris Otter malts, and a variety of different hops (Pacific Jade, Gem, Motueka, Riwaka) with the last two from New Zealand of all places. The beer had a great hoppy smell of fruity sweetness. It poured a pale yellow with a thin white head and was nicely dry and refreshing with a bitter finish. I found the bitterness a little unbalanced but overall pleasant.

Aroma: citrus, grass, yeast; Appearance: pale, hazy, minimal head; Taste: medium bitterness, slight sourness; Palate: slick texture; bitter finish; fizzy carbonation A well-rounded ale, not too thick, could be a session beer.
