330ml brown bottle. Last bottle from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar 2012. Dark orangey pour, hazy, thin white head. Nose is a little lemony, caramel hints, mild fruity notes. Taste has grains, wheat, caramel, touch of cherry-like fruit. Slight tang at the end, citrusy, bit of grass. Lighter body than expected for a 8+ percent brew, carbonation is light. Doesn’t exactly scream American strong ale to me, but I ended up enjoying this.

330 ml bottle. BB 06/Gen/15. Stone's, Helsinki, Finland. Hazy reddish amber colour with no head. Fruit cake, sweetness, malt and mild yeast in the aroma. The flavour is hops, sweetness, moderate bitterness, desert and dark fruits. Not that impressive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle (Stones, Helsinki)
Cakey spicy aroma, sweet. Honey later. Flat and orange. Watery palate, slick, flat. Some alcoholic vapours. Mashy grains, some corniness. Sweet,, flat and odd. A few spices can’t save a messy sweet beer.

33cl bottle. It pours a hazy brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet and caramely with spices and juniper. Taste is sweet and bold with juniper, cinnamon, caramel and burnt sugar. Full bodied with good carbonation. A tad overly-sweet to my likes.

A bit on the sweet side. This comes off more like a marzen with spices than a strong ale. That said, the 8.3 is well-integrated and not overpowering, odd, though, as it is a winter ale...

Bottle @ AF 2013 Milano. Schiuma beige, fine poco persistente. Ambrato carico, con riflessi ramati. Profumo fruttato floreale (gelsomino), decisamente speziato (su tutto avverto la cannella), e zucchero di canna. Gusto dolce abboccato l’ingresso, abbastanza amara nel finale. Gusto di caramello e spezie, molto piacevole. Abbastanza corposa. equilibrata ed armonica.

330ml bottle at William K. Kaari. Hazy dark amber colour, small mostly lasting frothy off-white head, good lacing. Decent toasty malt aroma of biscuit and chocolate balanced by sprucey hops with a hint of lime and hints of bitter, dough, ginger, fruit and cinnamon. Slightly sweet and acidic taste initially turning to a long moderately bitter and spicy finish with an acetic feel, full body, oily texture and lively carbonation. Very enjoyable Winter ale with character.
