Zarkam (398) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 23, 2013
330ml bottle at William K. Kaari. Hazy dark amber colour, small mostly lasting frothy off-white head, good lacing. Decent toasty malt aroma of biscuit and chocolate balanced by sprucey hops with a hint of lime and hints of bitter, dough, ginger, fruit and cinnamon. Slightly sweet and acidic taste initially turning to a long moderately bitter and spicy finish with an acetic feel, full body, oily texture and lively carbonation. Very enjoyable Winter ale with character.

Bov (9429) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 28, 2012
from Bier-Bienne - cloudy dark orange-amber beer with a solid creamy foam left; dusty and solidly hoppy; notes of cream, peaches and almonds; a solid malt backbone and very tasty; well-pronounced bitterness and with long aftertaste of exotic fruits and cream

Sorprendentemente beverina per il grado alcolico e per la caratura stagionale da "winter warmer"; anzi al naso è più fresca che altro.

Bottle 330 ml
Aroma sour tartness with spices accented behind. Interesting approach.
Appearance pours as hazed brown with large foamy cap. Some lace is shown.
Flavor and Palate : Cinnamon, sour cherry, mild spice. Mild carbonation. Sweet with mild tone. Gentle alcohol warmth behind. Polite and different than most.

Draft @ Fiera della Birra di Ferrara, Nov 2013 courtesy of the Bad Attitude crew.

Marstonlad (408) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 22, 2013
Bottle at Kaisla, Helsinki. A color of reddish brown with a little white head. Aroma of sweet, caramel maltiness, syrup, raisin, ripe fruitiness and spiciness. Taste is very sweet and spicy, raisin and plum are prominent. Hoppiness is fairly light; this does not really resemble other strong Americans I have had. Palate is medium bodied, a bit sticky. Nice, sweet flavours - the body could maybe be a bit fuller.

Bottle in Genoa, purchased from a small curio shop in the Genoa old town. Hazy amber beer, big frothy cream coloured head. Frothy palate, slightly soft. Very sweet malt with caramel and toffee and lacto. Mild hops provide dried fruit flavours and mild bitterness. Dry finish with a minerally bitter aftertaste. Not bad at all.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear brownish amber, rich firm head. Aroma of pear and caramel. Sweet and full bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and brandy, solidly malty notes of wood and milk chocolate. Warming finish with slight white pepper and some bitterness.
