A Black IPA. Dark, hoppy, roasty, with a long finish. Vanilla and walnut notes under the hops.

On tap at Sleeping Bear Winery/Bad Bear Taproom. Dark ruby brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of pine, dark malt, chocolate and mild citrus. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, light nuts and light pine. Could use a few more hops.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours black. Mild roast aroma. Very good lacing. Flavor of roasted coffee and vanilla. Very unusual IPA, really wasn’t very hoppy. Incredibly smooth and a little rich. More like a stout. Regardless of the style this was an excellent beer. Definitely worth a taste.
