3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Glug, Newcastle. This cloudy yellow beer explodes out of the bottle with a huge foam head. It has banana, vanilla and bubblegum flavours with a sweet fruity citrus finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Vino Wines. Hazy golden body with a large white head that gradually fades. Average carbonation. Light lacing. Lovely aroma of toasted sesame seeds, white pepper, underripe banana and freshly cut oranges. Flavour is very crisp - biting citrus, tempered by the chalky malt and peppery finish. Medium body with a frothy, slightly creamy texture. Fizzy carbonation. Probably the best Hefeweizen I’ve tried from a British brewery - sharp and refreshing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
[330ml bottle] Opaque golden amber pour, decent white puffy head. Aroma is clovey, yeasty. On the taste, a decidedly toasty hefeweizen. Hugely carbonated. Not sweet. Decent, the finish is bitter, which actually works very well. Refreshingly free from estery flavours due to the German influence, personally speaking I’ve always preferred my hefeweizens to be Bavarian-style, I like the toasty breadiness – and this one is extremely good indeed

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Hazy gold. Thick, white, lasting head. As you’d expect. Aroma is ripe banana, cloves. Some lemony, yeasty sourness too. Sharp on the palate, but has a nice bready finish. Liked it.
