COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hefeweizen. This refreshing Bavarian style wheat beer is a real Bad Seed. It was one of the first beers to break the Reinheitsgebot, the strict German purity laws. Rules about beer are silly, and we love the delicious taste of rebellion. 5.1% abv Ingredients: Malt – Wheat, Pilsner Hops – Perle

Aroma is very traditional hefe-territory. Clove, yeast, banana (hints rather than the driving force) some subtle citrus. Nice, if a little introverted. Pour is dirty dishwater with frothy head. Heavy carbonation. Taste is bready, clove some banana and bubblegum. Light bitter in the finish. Expect my hefe’s to be full and creamy. This one doesn’t quite meet those expectations but is a hearty attempt. Definitely the best UK hefe that I have tried to date.

Keg @ Earl of Essex. Pours hazy yellow. Decent spicy hefe, some banana, orange pith, vanilla, slight cloves.. although a little sharp and not quite as creamy as I’d liked. Still, rather nice though.
