COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hefeweizen. This refreshing Bavarian style wheat beer is a real Bad Seed. It was one of the first beers to break the Reinheitsgebot, the strict German purity laws. Rules about beer are silly, and we love the delicious taste of rebellion. 5.1% abv Ingredients: Malt – Wheat, Pilsner Hops – Perle

330ml Bottle - Golden with a slight haze and a foamy white head. Lemon, coriander and banana in the aroma. Tangy and slightly grainy taste with notes of hops, lemon and banana standing out.

Bottle. A really good example of a hefe. Nicely balanced and not overly sweet. Stands up well in compasrison the any German versions.

Bottle from Cornelius. Pours slightly hazy straw. Masses of honey on the nose. Clean and fairly classic hefe taste although very light spices and not much banana. Lovely.

Bottle from Glug, Newcastle. This cloudy yellow beer explodes out of the bottle with a huge foam head. It has banana, vanilla and bubblegum flavours with a sweet fruity citrus finish.

Bottle from Vino Wines. Hazy golden body with a large white head that gradually fades. Average carbonation. Light lacing. Lovely aroma of toasted sesame seeds, white pepper, underripe banana and freshly cut oranges. Flavour is very crisp - biting citrus, tempered by the chalky malt and peppery finish. Medium body with a frothy, slightly creamy texture. Fizzy carbonation. Probably the best Hefeweizen I’ve tried from a British brewery - sharp and refreshing.

[330ml bottle] Opaque golden amber pour, decent white puffy head. Aroma is clovey, yeasty. On the taste, a decidedly toasty hefeweizen. Hugely carbonated. Not sweet. Decent, the finish is bitter, which actually works very well. Refreshingly free from estery flavours due to the German influence, personally speaking I’ve always preferred my hefeweizens to be Bavarian-style, I like the toasty breadiness – and this one is extremely good indeed [14102013]

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Hazy gold. Thick, white, lasting head. As you’d expect. Aroma is ripe banana, cloves. Some lemony, yeasty sourness too. Sharp on the palate, but has a nice bready finish. Liked it.
