On cask at Cloisters. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - dominated by orange and hop resin herbiness. Almost hemp. Taste - earthy and grassy maybe spicy too. Something root vegetable. Also of course some citrus. Orange this time. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry but balanced finish. Overall - it’s a little gnarly but it’s certainly interesting and it grows as you take on its challenge.

Cask ale, half at the House of Trembling Madness. Hazy apricot coloured body. Naked surface. Rings of lace down the glass. Grassy hops on the nose alongside a touch of earthy malts. Fresh juicy fruits to the flavour profile, orange and lemon, moderate malty sweetness beneath. Bittersweet ending. Medium bodied. Likable (York 11.07.2014).
