3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Skinnyviking (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 17, 2007
Bottle. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Very dark red body. In fact you will have to hold it close to light, otherwise yould say it was black. Hoppy caramel cocoa aroma. Mild and round coffee caramel flavor with a nice bitterness. Low carbonation and a long coffee aftertaste. The high alcohol percentage is well hidden.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Skyview (5031) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Sampled from 550 ml bottle and shared by JK. Pours a clear copper amber colored brew with a fast dissolving beige head that dissipates to a thin ring and minimal lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, some floral hops, dark pitted fruits and a hint of raisin. Taste is medium bodied, soft carbonation, with flavors of caramel malt, a hint of cherries/berries, raisin and floral hops. Finish has a powdery malt and semi-dry aftertaste and the alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle @ Coles Barleywine Festival 2008 Buffalo NY. Not much aroma going on here. Sugary sweet, alcohol is very well hidden. Slight honey & herbal tea presence. Very easy drinking but didnt really come off as a barleywine. Thanks Crystal for the bottle

Dark red. Lots of caramel aroma and flavor. All malt, lightly sweet, with considerable alcohol on the palate. Herbal finish. It could use some age, but a solid beer.

600 ml bottle, purchased in Curitiba. Pours a clear, cola-amber color; creamy light-tan head with excellent lacing. Candied sweetness and caramel in the aroma; slightly overripe. Medium-full body with moderate co2. Delicious layers of vinous alcohol (well-hidden warmth), red fruits, and hints of caramel; a very nicely rounded mouthfeel and layers of fruits; damn tasty. Medium-length finish with red fruits and a touch of warmth.
