Impressionante.

Suprisingly good for some thing labeled a red ale and purchased at a convenience store. Reddish body. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is rich sweet bubblegum and dried fruit with some bitter roasty notes and booze. Nice beer.

Cerveja com tom avermelhado e escuro. Espuma com boa formação e pouco persistente. O teor alcoólico mais elevado é fácil de perceber no paladar. Agradável de beber

Many thanks to waqas for nabbing this beer while in Brazil. Ok so I drank the beer and was like nice....smooth but boozy. Super heavy malty. Not a red ale... Then I come on here and see barley wine. And I’m sort of... Ok this makes sense. I’m fact it makes a lot of sense. Red ale... Hell no. Barely wine. Pretty solid. Severely lacking in smell. Taste is a. It sweet with some bubblegum. Smooth and easy tho. I’ll take it.

Bottle, 600 ml. Pours on copper to brown non persistent head. Its color is like a dark rusted metal, going to dark Red to light brown. It tastes delicious caramel and dry fruits, loved its bouquet. Although its high ABV, Alcohol taste is well balanced on mouth. The real style is barley wine, not Red ale, and in the non proposal style, this beer is amazing!

Aromática e bastante encorpada. Bom exemplo de uma Ale. Apenas achei que o álcool sobressai demais, rouba um pouco o sabor do conjunto.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A very large, powerful and beautiful coarse foam manifested by pouring this red colored ale. It is a clear dark red and very fragrant ale. It has a fresh aroma of both raspberries and strawberries, and I’m tempted to believe that it is a fruit beer instead. The brewery mention it on the label as a double red ale with an alcohol volume of 9.2% and I can easily agree with the claim. A normal red / amber ale had probably been around 5-6%.
The smell is like saying raspberries and strawberries, but the taste reveals immediately a good rich caramel malt, with a slightly spicy tang from the alcohol. First, it may seem a little uncomfortable, but my taste buds must just have a little time to adjust to quite this ale. After some small light nip I can do better sense its elegance and taste notes. Careful notes of the aforementioned berries blends in well with the sharp alcohol embossed caramel and towards the end it has a fine moderate hoppy bitterness. It’s a good beer which can be confused a little with a smooth barley wine. Unlike a barley wine this beer will probably not get better with time, so I can only recommend that you enjoy it now. Use it as a substitute for table wine.
