From 600ml bottle (exp. 28/02/07) in Rio de Janeiro. Pitch black body with a brown medium head. Roasted malts and burned chocolate aroma with some smokiness. Sweet intake with some bitter chocolate and roasted coffee appearing in the middle of the tongue. Grassy finish with some hops appearing with burned caramels. Medium-low carbonation do not overtake the complexity of this beer while keeping it light enough to enjoy it even in the hot brazilian weather. A nice dark stout.

TheEnemy (562) - Chicago, USA - MAR 26, 2006
600ml bottle.
Pours a nice opaque black with medium tan head that recedes gradually and leaves lovely bits of lace in its wake. Aroma is roast grain, coffee and grassy hops. Flavor is roasty-dark grain, bitter coffee, medium hop bitter with faint hints of grassy-sour hops in the middle of the tongue. Medium-heavy mouthfeel with creamy-smooth palate and dry coffee aftertaste. A perfectly competent dry stout.

An opaque black beer with a fine though disappearing chocolate brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee. The flavor is sweet chocolate with notes of coffee, and a dry roasted end, but the body is thin.

Bottle. Thanks to omhper for sending this my way. Black as the night with a foamy dark brown head. An intense roasted malt, burnt wood, and bitter chocolate flavor. An unexpected delight from Brazil.
