3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 letsbeer (10) - - SEP 27, 2008
Aroma is malty, sweet, fruity, including yeast traces. The head is beige to white, foam is poor, no persistency. Honey color, transparent. On flavor, malt is dominant, prominent sweetness, discrete traces of citric fruits, specially orange; presence of alcohol is medium to strong. Body is medium and sticky, due to the high O.G.; better if they had injected some CO2 at the end of fermentation (the beer is naturally carbonated). Low complexity. The bitterness is well balanced with the sweet flavor. Finish is malty, smooth, leaving a sensation of clean mouth. No aftertaste. This is a good beer, it resembles a trappist, but too expensive for what it brings (R$70 / US$39 for 600 ml bottle in São Paulo).

Bottle thanks to the bosses had in the rake. Alround rating: A 14% triple. Has this ever been made before? Or is it infact a massivly alcoholic european strong lager? The latter wins. Its soo immencly alcoholic and sweet that you cant find anythign else and you dont really want to either. I managed to finish my sample, but it was a serious struggle. Reminisant of a really hot westmalle triple out the bottle, meaning fairly undrinkable.

Very beautiful bottle. An amber beer with a small beige head. aroma is sweet, fruity and alcoholic. Taste is fruity and sweety. Too alcoholic. Not very well balanced. Full body and licorice. A good beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beltramelli (471) - Campinas, BRAZIL - SEP 3, 2008
Creme pouco denso e consistente devido a grande quantidade de álcool na fórmula, o que desestabiliza a espuma, quebrando a tensão superficial do líquido. Aroma frutado remetendo a damascos e frutas cristalizadas, típico do estilo. No sabor, além dos elementos do aroma, a presença forte do álcool influencia bastante, desbalanceando o conjunto e comprometendo a drinkability. O final é longo e bastante adocicado. Apesar dos seus defeitos, trata-se de uma excelente cerveja.

Bottled @ Bar do Italiano. A pour dark amber color, with a nice almost beige head, persistent and creamy. Aroma is sweet and complex, some notes of caramel, fruit and malt, alcohol could be felt. Flavors bring me back to belgium, strong flavor, some cinnamon, caramel, and alcohol again. Mouth feel is a quite dry, but really good.. I liked this beer, but unfortunately the price still high! R$85.00 (around US$50.00)
