beaconstreet (810), Washington DC, USA Jun 23, 2005 JDW, Tottenham Court Road, London. Definitely fursty. Whatever the hell that is. Served rather cold, which was good for this particular bitter. Has hints of originality, but nothing too outstanding. Ah well, but the last beer I had in England.
MrAleman (112), guildford, Surrey, England Sep 10, 2008 Not recommended, nutty, unpleasant full taste of redish beer. Odd stuff! mabel (1662), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 26, 2007 [701-20070926] Cask @ Ship & Shovell (London, GL). Wet ferret-like aroma has light resin or caramel notes. Clear, orange amber body with a quick bubbly white head. Generic fruit flavour has a nice doughy yeast finish. Medium body. Repeatable, mild but nice. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 3, 2007 Hazy light amber coloured ale topped by a nice off-white film. Shy aroma is pretty grainy and almost devoid of hop flavours. In mouth, it is frankly plasticy upon the finish. The yeastiness is a bit too phenolic for a session ale, kinda chemical. A rare case of a bad yet fresh cask ale for me. sm89walt (179), Norwich, Norfolk, England Oct 1, 2007 Cask at a Wetherspoons. Amber in colour with a slight head. Floral and citric aroma. The taste is similar but with a touch of caramel. Light-medium in body and a smooth, dry mouthfeel. The hops never come to much and so the finish is sweeter rather than bitter and quite bland. oh6gdx (6334), Vaasa, Finland Sep 6, 2007 Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is wooden, spiced, slightly caramelly and saltwatery. Flavour is spices, wooden and some slight bittery fruits.
