The light, refreshing character of our award-winning golden ale is distinguished by its subtle elderflower aroma, reminiscent of a summer’s evening. Champion is particularly rewarding when served chilled. On a balmy evening in Stanpit Marsh, a cool breeze blows and a calm encompasses the vast reserve. Amongst the wild horses, you may see Golden Champion, a headstrong but loyal stallion who enjoys the warm days grazing in th fields. The subtle elderflower aromas of this delicately floral brew are reminiscent of a summer’s evening. This divine all-rounder is a great companion for smoky, chargrilled chicken and peppery rocket salad.

Not keen on this. It pours light and fluffy and looks the part, but it’s way too sweet. Tastes almost off at times. There’s some fruit and grain trying to get in there but its overpowered by a nasty level of sweetness. Could be way better.

Appearance: Clear amber with finger thick white head. Aroma: Floral, fruity, elderflower, peppery, note of tangerine, malt and hint of caramel. Taste: Medium bitter and sweet with low sour. Palate: Thick grainy texture, light body, average carbonation, lingering dry, fruity, citrus, peppery biscuit finish. Comments: Tasty and refreshing with glass lace.

Wet musty grass. Perhaps a little skunky. Tan coloured pour. Well balanced, medium body on the palate, refreshing slightly bitter hop finish. Drinkable.

Fra flaske på rom 324 på Premier Inn, Goldsmith Rd. Nottingham 27 Jan 14. Gyldenbrun. Tynt filmskum. God maltaroma. Smaken er litt syrlig med et visst maltpreg. Noe fruktighet etter hvert.

Rating #890 - January 7, 2014 - 500ml Bottle from Coop in #yeg. Clear golden pour, hint of copper colour, weak white foam that bubbles away slowly to a soapy ring. Aroma is earthy malts, hints of caramel, tangerine. Taste is a mild sweetness, elderflower honey, citrus followed by a punch of hoppy flavour. Great zesty citrus and floral sweetness dried out with the mild bitterness. Quite nice.

Very presentable bright golden with a light but steady white head. Firmly malty with a gristly greenish nose - not fresh but very floral. Gripping oily bitterness, well lit malt and a decent sweet bitterness towards the finish. I drank a lot of Badger fae Waitrose in my pre-RB days (and have them scrawled on paper for reference) and this wasn’t ever in t’ward the top.
