The light, refreshing character of our award-winning golden ale is distinguished by its subtle elderflower aroma, reminiscent of a summer’s evening. Champion is particularly rewarding when served chilled. On a balmy evening in Stanpit Marsh, a cool breeze blows and a calm encompasses the vast reserve. Amongst the wild horses, you may see Golden Champion, a headstrong but loyal stallion who enjoys the warm days grazing in th fields. The subtle elderflower aromas of this delicately floral brew are reminiscent of a summer’s evening. This divine all-rounder is a great companion for smoky, chargrilled chicken and peppery rocket salad.

Ohh ...first sip and I love it. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, grass, floral.. Appearance is a nice medium gold, with a white foam.light sweetness, lovely woody undertones and burnt flavourings. A very nice one!

Bottle. Orange colour with no head. Aroma is the best part, elderflower is prominent with a hint of caramel. Taste is floral, sweet caramel and citrus hops. The palate is what you would expect with a golden ale, thin and slightly carbonated. A good beer in some ways poor in others especially appearance.

Backlog rating 12-13-2008 (Bottle) This beer pours a small white head that mostly diminished, no lacing, transparent body, and a gold hue. The aroma is flowery, sweet and fruity. The taste is sweet, fruity, and lightly hoppy. The palate is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. Overeall, this is a session beer, very quaffable and a beer I would drink again.

Flasche mit McTapps verköstigt. Unaufgeregt, leicht hopfig mit fruchtigen Noten. Sicherlich kein Champion, aber eine gute Nummer von Badger.

Bottle. Pours in in a deep golden colour with low head and medium body. Taste of mild fruits, ripe hops, mild peaches, grains and low malt. It is quite fruity and tasty but has got a quite bitter finish, which makes it very refreshing during summer time.

Bottle from Tesco Metro, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. Golden - yes, I’ll agree there - with a decent, bubbly head. Standard bitter malt hops aroma but stronger than many an ale. Initial strong lemon citrus in the taste, some grapefruit, then some bitter hops. Tangy and fizzy feel. After taste is sugary hops - this is on the sweeter side but not too much.

50cl bottle shared with Joes @ Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Clear golden color, small off-white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, buttery, slightly fruity, lightly hops and some bitter. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Bottle from Tesco’s. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin white broken head and bags of broken lace. The aroma is of malt and fruit. The flavour is weak bitter, fruity and with hints of malt. The palate is smooth and there’s a mild lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. It’s a great refreshing summer ale, particularly when served cool. I prefer the Golden Glory, but this is also an excellent beer.
