The light, refreshing character of our award-winning golden ale is distinguished by its subtle elderflower aroma, reminiscent of a summer’s evening. Champion is particularly rewarding when served chilled. On a balmy evening in Stanpit Marsh, a cool breeze blows and a calm encompasses the vast reserve. Amongst the wild horses, you may see Golden Champion, a headstrong but loyal stallion who enjoys the warm days grazing in th fields. The subtle elderflower aromas of this delicately floral brew are reminiscent of a summer’s evening. This divine all-rounder is a great companion for smoky, chargrilled chicken and peppery rocket salad.

Gorgeous golden pour with an off white head. A nice floral aroma and a very crisp taste. What more could you ask for?

Aroma: Hops, powerfully aromatic. Judging by aroma alone I expected this beer to be incredibly overhopped; the hops are VERY strong in the scent, and unpleasantly bitter to the nose, I find. Appearance: Beautiful deep golden colour almost verging on a red ale, but not quite. Head is very thin and dissipates swiftly to ring the glass. Taste: The nose warns of a high hopped beer, but the tongue greets this like an old friend. Sweet, citrus notes, the hops prove to be gentle and very forgiving. Woody notes, gently floral and citrus, and a pleasantly astringent aftertaste that leaves the tongue dry and ready for another sip. Despite the aroma suggesting this should be a bitter beer, it is not at all; the beer lends itself more in flavour to a fruity weisbeir than to a typical golden ale. Palate: Thin, fizzy at first, finishing with a long, back-of-the-tongue dryness that makes the mouth water pleasantly. The body is light to medium. Overall: This beer deserves to be called "Champion" in its class. The balance is fantastic, and it is the sort of session beer that after one bottle, you’d be ready to crack open and enjoy a second and third. The grapefruit tones up front are mild and sweet, and the long, dry finish just keeps inviting the mouth back for another sip, and another, another.

Bottle to sampler Toasted coconut, soap, hay, marmalade, oats. Clear yellow with a little effervescence and a ring of white bubbles. British hops and malts are showcased here, but unfortunately the soapy aroma is there in the taste as well. It's still a nice beer, but it cold be so much better.

Bottle - Clear bottle may be bad. First opening the spunky aroma goes everywhere. After a bit of time it mellows to toast with some citrus. Maybe like marmalade. I could just be hungry? A bit grassy, very interesting. Pale yellow with a fizzy head that disappears quickly. Very light, honey and crystal malts. For a light beer not bad, at least it has some flavor.

Bottle at home. Clear golden pour, thin white head. Aroma of cats piss, beer-in-clear-bottle, some British hops, spicy and somewhat fruity. Flavor is quite bitter, slightly grainy and with some floral hops. Light body, a bit messy, but refreshing nonetheless.

Elderflower, yes. Golden, yes. Champion I think not. I’d make up a vaguely witty remark about some contrast with champion status but I don’t want to. George Osborne cried today and tweeted that it was a moving, overwhelming day. Makes me vomit a little in my mouth. Osborne, not the beer. The beer is rather pleasant whereas Osborne is a

Golden colour. Aroma is quite floral. This sweet and floral flavour is not to my liking.

Now this is a delicious ale.Nice mellow caramel/toffee aroma, taste is similar with dry hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy, with a light lingering dry finish. I could drink this one for a while.

0,5L bottle. Quite pleasant and soft fruity taste. Flavor could be stronger. Finish goes watery and bland. OK.
