3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 VeloVampire (616) - Parkdale, Toronto, - JUL 9, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 11, 2011 500 ml bottle - pours clear light copper with a small white head. This leaves a bit of lace as it settles to a surface film. Intriguing, fruity, flowery aroma - field strawberry seems most prominent, clover, imagine a rural summer meadow with a gentle breeze blowing in your direction. Very nice. Flavour is definitely different and starts off the same as the aroma but then veers left and takes on a slightly oily, vegetal, tinny note. Not unpleasant, just a bit odd. The flavours are more light berry, green plum. Some light earthy spice as well, presuambly from the elderflower. A fairly beguiling ale for such a light offering. Very nice, would get again.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 dogbomb (273) - ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2012
Bottle. Golden amber with a steady white head. Nose is very malty, wheat and rice. In the mouth, more malts making this a very sweet drink. Very light, but not much hoppiness. There’s a little floral excitement bubbling beneath, but nothing world-rocking. Refreshing and pleasant, but that’s about it.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2012
Tall 500ml brown bottle, best before May 09, drank Aug 08.
Poured into one of my Veltins Pilsner glasses (three times). Amber, a light amber really, with a good head of foam. The body was clear and a few bubbles could be seen rising up to the head which stayed for the whole drink.
Sweet aroma, an English Country Garden Smell, but without the Rose’s. Apples and Pears mixed with a floral hint is the best I can come up with.
No where near as hoppy as an American Pale Ale, this has a pleasnt understanded hoppiness and a sweetness that is always hanging around (a little too sweet for me).
No depth to the body, but it is supposed to be light bodied, so no real complaints.
This is the umteenth beer from this brewery I’ve reviewed on this site and most have been bordering on poor. This is better, but isn’t a world beater by any standard.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 czar (1205) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 27, 2012
pours light golden-orange tint with a small white head, little retention/lacing. lots of floralness (elderflower), honey, tangerines, citrus, light but decent english malts, some sweetness, awkward medicine cardboard. average carbonation, light body, short but unbland citrusy-elderflowery finish. slightly awkward but quenching and good.

Just how I like my beer. Taste, appearance and aroma excellent. Lovelly on the palate too. It’s just lacking that little something though. Look forward to tasting more from Badger I will.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Howellsey (13) - - FEB 3, 2012
Bottle from Tesco
Looks a bit like Iron Bru, an unbeer like orangey, slightly artificial look to it. Smelled quite sweet and fruity with some citrus notes to it. Tasted fruity too but was too sweet and had a "poppy" aftertaste.
