Grovlam (2893), Copenhagen, Denmark May 9, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average egg-white head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Clear golden colour. Aroma of heavy peach and fruit, mild toasted malt and perfume. Over the palate came mild herbal and again peachy feel. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet and bitter flavour. Peachy like fruity finish. This is the peachiest beer ever.
johndoughty (1554), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Jun 27, 2008 Bottle.Orange appearance with a lovely fruitiness. The peachy flavour that dominated is unusual but definitely makes for an unusual but classy beer. Some hops and bitterness add to the complexity.
Usually I think beers like this are just for novelty but this really is excellent.Highly recommended. Pyobon (125), Sydney, Australia Jun 21, 2008 Bottle. Amber, little head. Aroma of peach, passion fruit, pineapple. Medium body with plentiful fizzy carbonation. Very fruity, especially peaches, with some nice hoppy bitterness in finish. Very unusual but works really well. Beth101 (24), West Yorkshire, England Jun 1, 2008 light in colour. No head. Smells very sweet and fruity. smooth and quite bitter with a hint of fruit. Crunchie (20), Somerset, England May 30, 2008 I must say I didn’t quite get this. A sickly peach aroma dominates making it smell more like lip balm than real fruit. There are hops in there and there is malt too, which both come through more late on and in the finish, but the peach flavour is really not very attractive. Too much carbonation and not enough bitterness, I expected a lot more when opening the bottle. Why mask all those lovely hop flavours with unneccesary perfume? wheresthepath (180), Buckinghamshire, England May 15, 2008 [500ml bottle from Asda, High Wycombe] Opening the bottle reveals the overwhelming smell of peach blossom room freshener - nearly poured it on the pot pourri! Taste initially dominated by sweet peach - far closer to an alcopop than a beer. At this point I was distinctly unsure whether to continue to drink it. However, soon the hops and a dry bitterness comes through, and by the end of the pint you realise how well balanced it is. It definitely needs to be served cold. I ended up loving this beer and would certainly have it again. However, I also believe it’s one of those love it or hate it beers.
