Draft at Red Cow. Clear deep maroon brown color, tan head with solid lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate. Taste is thin milk chocolate.

Decent but lots of coffee notes....i just like more chocolate flavors...ok but not a beer i would search out

(can) Pours jet black with a medium tan head. Aroma of mesquite beef jerky (the kind overladen with sugar), smoke, unwanted and misplaced pine hop, roasted malt, and kipper snacks. Pass. Flavor is less objectionable with somewhat of a semblance of an even roasted malt that teeters the edge between smooth and acrid. The misplaced and unwanted hop brightness and saltiness rears its ugly head on the finish and creates this odd effect that all but disintegrates anything redeeming about the finish. This is a beer that’s suffering an identity crisis between being a black IPA, stout, or hoppy porter, and it currently fails in successfully emulating any of them. While the White IPA from Badger Hill was magnificent, this "stout" is a stark example of a brewer regressing to its mean.

Growler. Near black with a medium sized light brown head. Roasted malt, salted almonds, a little coffee and leather. Taste is lightly sweet with a dry, almost salty finish. Body is heavier with an oily feel.

12 oz. can. Pours brown near black with a good khaki sudsy head that hangs around. Aroma has nice roasted malt bitter bakers chocolate soft coffee. Taste is bitter roasted malt some burnt bitter bakers chocolate and hops and some day old coffee. Palate is thin/medium slightly gritty and finishes dry. Good stout and drinks well.

Bottle from a locals for locals trade from Atom. Pours dark brown / black color with tan head. Aromas of dark roasted malt and chocolate. Burnt malt flavor with some chocolate and a slightly ashy finish. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation. Thanks Adam.

Had a delicious pint from the nitro tap. Trying out a rating on a bottle. This was my favorite of the Badger Hill beers. I would recommend picking some up if you find some. They had a pretty nice tap room, too. I’d recommend a visit there.
Coffee, chocolate, toast, and a little bit of yeast aroma. Very dark brown with a frothy head. light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, lively carbonation, roasted flavor at the finish.

Dense sienna brown amply capped with mocha foam. Bakers chocolate, birch bark and muddled red fruit aroma. Healthy malts with minor representations of citrus that can seem medicinal. The bittersweet flavor offers dark roasted coffee and its clanging astringency, and waterlogged wood and chocolate. The meaty, rustic roast that carries the best examples is mostly absent here, outshone by mild spicing and the bland acridity of the thin black malt. Texturally hollow, though this is not always the case with this beer.
