COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Taking cues from old English and Irish Stouts, two brothers from the Land of 10,000 Lakes landed on their own perfect brew. The reveal? A sweet, malty roast that hints of coffee, caramel and chocolate—and finishes off clean with touches of Cascade hops.

Bottle. Pours a black color with off white head. Roasty, malty, oat aromas and flavors. Better than the other 2 Badger Hill beers I tried.

From a bottle. Black, with a head that starts off fairly large and thick but quickly fades. It is not sweet, but rather dry and bitter, with some chocolate, and a flavor that is somewhat reminiscent of coffee. There is a a fair amount of hops, for the style. For a simple session stout, this is good. Thick palate.

Bottle. Deep brown color, thick mocha head. Lots of coffee and chocolate on the nose, with some roasty malts and a touch of sweet pine. Starts of with a medium body and lighter carbonation. Coffee and dark chocolate dominate, some Bready malts in the background. The slight sweetness and pine bite come at the finish.

Color is dark brown with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is roasty and citrus. Taste is almost all bitter with a very light underlying sweetness. A decent beer, but I’m surprised they’re calling this a stout. If not for the name I would have guessed it were a black IPA. I had to be sure after the first sip that I was given the right thing. It might not have been so surprising if not for the fact that the nose was overpoweringly hoppy.
