3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour on tap at APN 2013, dark black pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of carbonic acid, some slight cocoa, roast, slight lactose notes, hints of oxidation in there as well, a bit off. Taste is acidic, roast, some dark fruits, hints of cocoa, roast, and coffee, finishing bitter, dry. Just ok.

Tap at gold nugget. Rich roasted malt aroma. Hint of hops. Opaque black body. Dry yet rich and hoppy. Some lactose and a hint of dry chocolate milk. Really tasty.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured medium brown with a colossal, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up toasted coffee, cocoa, and vanilla notes with a touch of metallic accent.. smelled a little off. The flavor found sour coffee notes and moderate oxidation at the core.. powdered coffee and cocoa around.. more sour than it should’ve been on the dry finish. Light-bodied, dry, and grainy on the palate.. too much carbonation.. not in good shape.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown pour with red highlights showing at the stem of the glass. Light tan head has some small bubbles and recedes pretty quickly but does leave a little lace. Hearty nose of roasted malt with hints of licorice and molasses...maybe some dark chocolate as well as some nuttiness. Hints of an earthy hop profile too. More roast, chocolate, coffee emerges on the palate...with hints of smoke and burnt malt. Burnt caramel? Bitterness on the finish.A really decent standard stout from a smaller brewery - the perfect beer to lure patrons inside during a blustery winter day.

Sampled during CBC 2013. Almost black pour with a small tan head. Light roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate, a hint of toffee. Lightish flavor as well, roasted malts, chocolate, some caramel. Not bad.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a black color with off white head. Roasty, malty, oat aromas and flavors. Better than the other 2 Badger Hill beers I tried.
