The key to appreciating a true strong bitter: A balance that you’ll savor. Our pronounced hop usage has been compensated with smooth malt perfectly. Presenting our inaugural brew, with hints of its English roots and a whole lotta Minnesota depth to explore.

Can. Pours clear orange, medium beige head, good lacing. Aroma is malty, grain, caramel, bread, citrus. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, malty, caramel, pine, hints of orange zest. Medium body. Not bad.

Nice balance. Malty, hoppy, delicious. Drank it on a boat, so I didn’t get any aromas or color...delicious though...at least in the sun.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber color with thin soapy foamy head that hangs around. Smells of caramel malt little sweet spice. Taste is slightly bitter with the above, caramel malt light sweet spice. Palate is thin to medium and pretty damn smooth. I like this! Tasty easy drinking brew, with nice balanced flavor!

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a touch of orange and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread and grain notes with a touch of earthy grass backing. Flavor combines sweet grains with a touch of light fruits and a bit of grass.

Balanced brown. 47 IBU. Seems like it shouldn’t be bitter at all, but enough to give it just the right finish

Hazy reddish copper body with a long lasting khaki head. Old library books and pears are the dominant smells. Notes of ginger are present. Metallic notes are up front with oranges and oxidized old paper. I get a little bit of black tea along with hard strawberry candy in the finish. A nice ESB.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2014 Very good attempt at a bitter, not much hop bite as expected for a bitter in the British style.Very good malt flavor, again, in the British style. This is very nice actually, and fairly true to style.

Tap pour at New Bohemia. An amber, maybe copper ale. Good lacing. Appearance is definitely deceiving. Taste is bitter and only bitter. No balance and seemingly no finesse. Taste lacks the floral hop resin and leads more into a bitter malty lack of satisfaction. Probably worth skipping.
