3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
"Thrice hopped". Doesn’t that sound so much more elegant than "triple hopped"? British english may be more beautiful than american english, but the use of hops in the British brewing tradition is a bit dull compared to what we’ve become used to in the modern hop-driven US brew scene, in my humble opinion. This certainly goes for the Thrice Hopped Hopping Hare. Sure there are some hoppy notes to be found in the moderate aroma, but these rather overripe fruity notes and vague citric hints are not at all especially refreshing, and they are definitely outshone by the malty components. Sweet caramel, toffee and bready notes are the masters of this brew. The taste too has lots of malty sweetness, but luckily there is a moderate to light bitterness in the finish that balances the sweet feel. The moderate flavours follow the aroma, maybe with a tad more overripe citrus, especially initially and mid-palate. Once again I’m impressed by the mouthfeel of such a fairly low ABV beer, the Thrice (sorry, love that word, got to use it as often as possible) Hopped Hopping Hare has a medium body and a smooth, pleasant and softly carbonated mouthfeel. A good one. Thrice as good as the worst bitter I’ve had.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
50cl bottle. Yellow golden with small white and almost non-existing head. Nose : skunky and citrusy aromas with notes of bread and hay. Sip : water like density with good carbonation. Sparkling and foamy texture while swallowing. Dry notes of hay and pale malts. Corn. Citrus dry. It's ending with sour and bitter notes. Bitterness is delicate. The beer is a thirst quencher. Nothing special.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle): Pours a clear light golden colour, small white head and a fair bit of lacing. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and a little bit of toffee. A strange flavour, somewhat malty with hops, caramel and hints of spice. Not great on the palate.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear golden blond, light carbonation. The hops in the aroma are a bit skunky. Flavour is rather muted at first. There’s a light citrus edge and some bready malt just prior to the medium bitter finish.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear, see through yellow/orange beer with a white head. Some toffee, caramel, bread, roasted coffee (like in the air around a coffee factory) and citrus notes on the nose. Smells very nice. The body is light and watery. Mouth feel is soft and round. The hops is about the same quality as in a normal pils. A bit buttery. Some caramel. Slight grassy bitterness. The aroma promised something a lot better and more interesting. This one’s rather dull disappointingly.
