500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Copper with a thin white head; beautiful deep sourish damson aroma;fuity damson flavour, spicy and sweet; and a warming dry finish. Excellent, particularly if you’re a damson fan - as I am.

Bottle 50cl, a clear amber beer with low head. Nose is just on berries. Aroma is dry just full of berries and elderflowers, medicine notes with mint finish. Just awful and undrinkably dry grassy astringent stuff.

July 2008: This beer contains Malted Barley, Wheat and Sulphates. A warning or a advertising ploy?
Anyway my brown 500ml bottle with its best before date rubbed out was poured into a Westmalle Trappist Challice (twice).
The off white head that appeared as I poured soon left to leave a thin wisp and collar. The body of the beer was a lovely red mahogany and very clear.
The initial aroma was of a dirty farmyard, luckily that soon dispersed and a fruity (red berries, plums and Honey Melon) took over. Liquorice also appeared in the rich heady mix as the beer warmed.
The liquorice became the dominant flavour for me, it was also fairly sweet, so the plums and melon in the aroma came through into the taste too.
You would never guess this beer had 5.7% alcohol, it doesn’t have the body or presence to indicate that amount. Nor is it rich or creamy in any way.
It is however a pleasant beer and one I would happily offer the visitors.
I have just read the label in more detail and they have used liquorice and damons in the brew. Hey, I’m obviously getting the hang of this reviewing lark.
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 buggybill2003 (11) - - MAY 10, 2012
This beer was superb, although definately could not be drunk all night as I found this beer a bit overpowering. The aroma of plums and licqurice was so pleasant, I couldnt stop smelling the bottle. I tend to only drink one bottle of beer a night, but this was a REAL pleasure.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 danielyabu (742) - União da Vitória, BRAZIL - MAY 6, 2012

500 ml bottle served cellar cool, ruby body, off white head. Berry fruit aroma. First mouthful is very sweet, but not cloying, and the licquorice and blackcurrant flavour develops throughout. Full bodied, softly carbonated, plenty of juicy flavour and a long finish, I enjoyed this.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2012 17/IV/2012 - 500ml bottle @ Klaas’ place - BB: X/12 (2012-386) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!
Clear amber to copper red beer, small off-white head, unstable, pretty adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, cherry liquor, wine gums, strawberry jam. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of fruity wine gum flavours and sweet gummy bears, raspberry and strawberry jame, little bitter, some lemon juice. Aftertaste: sweet and bitter, more wine gums with a touch of wine gums and some wine gums. But man, it’s pretty good, it actually works! Very surprised about the low rating...

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 eusou9 (31) - - FEB 5, 2012
Nice dark brown color, with a medium tan head that last (thin) long. Aroma does not use the fruits so well as the flavor does. Very well balanced combination of sweet, bitter and fruitness flavours, with a touch of spiciness. A very good beer in the end.
