COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Seeking out the treasures of the countryside and making the most of local ingredients is an art shared by Badger and the wily poacher. Badger's Poacher's Choice captures unique rural flavours in a smooth, dark ale enhanced by a touch of liquorice for spicy sweetness and damson for a soft, subtly fruity taste. A gutsy ale that's worth tracking down.

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown body with a medium off white head with decent retention. Has a very malty aroma, lots of fruits especially cherries. A little hop character, caramel. Sweet, with bitter notes in the background. Dry finish, decent carbonation. Tastes very similar to certain Belgian krieks. You do not notice its strength as your drink it!

Dark clear golden beer with frothy/sticky but short lived off white head. Rotten apple and yeasty aroma. Low carbonation but still a good fizz on the tongue. Flavour has candy sweetness, dandelion and burdock, dark malt, slight medicinal quality. Complex yet well balanced beer. Not too rich. Finish is a brown sugar coated fruit salad.

0,5 l bottle. Reddish bronze with a good foam. Fruity aroma, a little pharmacy-sulfur, caramel, slightly spicy, something like licorice. Taste sweet, with blackberries, currants, red grapes, blue plum, caramel, some grassy.

Dark copper colour with a frothy white head. Medium body. Big fruity / floral aroma. You have to look for it but the licquorice is there - at the back of the nose and the taste. The sweet jammy fruits dominate the flavour with a hint of spice and almond - the beer equivalent of a Bakewell tart. Very smooth and probably too sweet to have more than one.

the aroma is fruity and caramel with hints of flowers, candy and toffee... the taste is malty and fruity with rough hoppy bitterness and shades of spices, licorice and cherry... sweet and bitter dry aftertaste...

Big beige head. Clear deep reddish brown body. Perfumy wild berry and fruit aroma with candy and chewing gum notes. Sweetish perfumy artificial red berry and fruit taste with oily notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry metallic perfumy red berry aftertaste with spicy green apple notes. I really don’t like this style of perfumy, artificial ales, but there’s no denying it’s well made, and something about the sweet fruitiness appeals to me, even through all that perfume. (0.5l bottle, from Waitrose, Canary Wharf, London.)

Bottle. Dark reddish chestnut with thick lasting white head strong fruity aroma unfortunately a mixture of black currant and cola bottles. Taste is far too sweet and it is a sugary confectionery type sweetness. Some bitterness in the finish. Got it wrong guys sorry.

Bottle from, er, somewhere. Dark chestnut brown with a long-lasting head. Nice. Aroma is cough medicine and Haribo Starmix. Taste is...odd. Restrained candy sweetness, like the aforementioned Haribo dissolved in water. Tastes like it should be bright pink. This does not taste like beer. Sorry, not a fan. Too perfumed, too fruity.

Decent head and a beautiful dark red, almost purple colour makes this beer stand out, fruity aroma as well. The taste is very strong, almost blackcurrant but sweeter tones also, most likely the liquorice advertised on the bottle. Taste is a bit too much for me, but those into fruity brews might like this more.

December 8, 2014. Bottle at home, received in a trade, thanks Beersiveknown! Clear amber with a creamy white head. Aroma is sweet caramel with black currant, cranberries, floral and herbs. Taste is medium sweet, very light bitterness, very fruity with a light dry bitterness. Smooth medium bodied, oily texture with soft small bubble carbonation.
