Bottled. It’s amber, it’s hoppy, it’s a bit sweet, it’s Badgers. It’s not quite Champion but it’s not bad. Another Average English Ale.

Disappointing. Poured clear gold with medium white head. Medium-high visible carbonation. Good retention and lace. Aroma was poor. At first just this metallic fruitiness then a bit of lemon. Palate was smooth initially though thin with a watery finish. Flavour started mildly sweet, finished mildly bitter. Very bland. Maybe I just got a bad bottle?

500ml brown bottle which was my second selection from the so-called Badgers Sett(four different beers for a fiver) Poured a light copper colour with white frothy head which quickly dispersed. Light carbonation and some lacing.I'm not very good on aromas,I suppose cereal with some hops.Bitter flavour with some hops and slight organic solvent. Reasonably full mouthfeel.Long bitter finish with slight skunk at the very end.I've also tried the handpump version, which was very similar,at the recently refurbished and renamed Old Nick(previously The Three Cups)in WC1 which is close to my office.

Colour is orange and head is small and not very long lasting. Aroma is hoppy and sweet and flavor is on the sweet side.

Bottle. Slight caramel sweetness, hops apparent as warms. Smooth drinking but thin and boring.

Don't know about this one. Amber colour with good head retention. Kind of metallic aroma with a fair bit of biscuity maltiness and molasses. English malt flavour with a fair bit of hop flavour and rough bitterness. Drinkable and stuff but there's something vaguely reminiscent of VB which throws me a bit.

Amber copper colour with a short lasting head. Aroma of hops - lemon and pine. Light bitterness and spice, not too full flavours but very easy drinking. Tried this in England last year and enjoyed it then as I do now.

Strong ale??? Strong in skunk maybe....it was weird, the aroma and flavor of this beer reminded me of one of thsoe green bottle beers....lots of that stale skunk. Anyways, golden in color, weak head. Some nutty malts and fruit in the aroma along with all that skunk. Bitter malty flavor with more skunk....no bueno!

Bronze colour with a weak head. Hoppy aroma with slight fruit start to the flavour. Mostly just simple bitterness and a little sourness at the end. Average and not worth the high price

Bottled. Amber with a clean steadily rising white head, that persisted throughout. Hoppy, elderflower aroma and flavour. Talk about having a style, Badger’s beer taste so similar its stretching the point to differentiate the flavours. Nice beer, a lighter less powerful version of the Champion ale.
