Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. Unclear, brown beer with a beige head. Sour nose with spices, amongst others thyme, and sweetness. Coriander, sugar, alcohol and caramel in the flavor. Full-bodied and sweet mouthfeel. The finish has alcohol and bitterness. I think this beer would go well with lamb, else there’s too much thyme and alcohol. (060826)

Bottle at the RBSG grand tasting on 6/23/07 courtesy of chris_o: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a frothy, wispy-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of lightly toasted dark caramel malt with a touch of bready yeast. Body starts with some lightly sweet earthy drier caramel malt with a touch of black pepper and coriander toward the finish. A little thin.

70 cL bottle. Pours deep brown with a huge light brown head, beautiful. Sweet malty and highly spiced aroma. Slight smoked, coffee and spiced flavour. Strong liqourice flavour with heavy ingefaer and timian notes. Dry and slight flat finish. Rather strangely spiced and unbalanced.

Big bottle. Pours a black colour with a nice creamish light brown head. Strong spiced aroma of thyme indeed with liquorice, ginger and some coriander. The flavour is very spiced with thyme and coriander, liquorice, roasted malt and caramel. Very spiced well lasting roasty finish. A good experiment but too much thyme in it making me give it "only" 3.5.

RBSG 2007: Following maniac’s lead here: Poured a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma, roasty malts, spice, caramel and molasses. Flavor, caramel, fruity, toffee, and yeasty. Good stuff.

Bottle. Light brown fluffy but high and lasting head. Hazy ruby boey. Spicy aroma of first and foremost thyme plus a bit of caramel. The flavor is also dominated by thyme but apart from that a bit of ginger and coriander (very little). The body feels a bit thin although the aftertaste lasts for a good time. Different and interesting. Alchol well hidden.

Bottle. Dark brown with a red hue and compact beige head that lasts. Very spicy aroma with thyme dominating and some liqourice. The thyme dominates this beer, it’s way to much, all other nuances is subdued.

Bottle. Pours a deep red with a little creamy beige head that stays. Mild aroma, thyme, forest, barn. Taste begins fruity and berry-like, then adds caramel, finishing off with a clear thyme edge. The girlfriend described it as pizza in a bottle :o)

Draugt at Cockney Pub. Brownish colour with a medium mostly lasting light brown creamy head. Rich aroma and taste of malts, licorice and fruit. Lots of thyme in the finish
